Default For All Who Care to Advise

Hi guys, so I picked up competitive battling a while ago, and Reuniclus helped me pick out a team. After a couple tough losses against some gym leaders, though, I'm a little concerned that it's not at its greatest potential. I also may have made a couple mistakes in entering my team, and I'm not entirely certain what corrections to make. I'm just going to post the team here, and leave the tips to the pros.

Syra-- The Lead.
SPECIES: Marowak (male)
ITEM: Focus Sash
ABILITY: Rock Head
MOVESET: Earthquake, Swords Dance, Thunderpunch, Stealth Rock

Xylv-- Special Sweeper

ITEM: Choice Scarf
ABILITY: Blaze
MOVESET: Eruption, Focus Blast, Heat Wave, Hidden Power (Ice)
NATURE: Modest
4 HP / 252 Sp Atk / 252 Speed

Hreoth-- Status Spreader
SPECIES: Noctowl (male) (I used this one because I like Noctowl, but I don't know if this is the best one for the job. If you think I should replace it with a similar pokemon, I'm open to suggestions)
ITEM: Flame Orb
ABILITY: Insomnia
MOVESET: Roost, Psycho Shift, Whirlwind, Nightshade
NATURE: Hardy (<--This might have been a mistake.)
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Sp Def

Aeryl-- Physical Sweeper

ITEM: Lum Berry

ABILITY: Steadfast

By taking a quick look at your team, I can see that your team is weak to Rock. As Stone Edge is one of the common moves, I suggest to swap some of your Pokémon, preferably Noctowl, with a bulky Steel type that is able to spread status. Otherwise, Choice Scarfed Tyranitar and Terrakion will have an easy time against you.

As a general advice, never use a nature that doesn't help any of your stats. For a wall/tank, use a nature that increase one of the defenses.
