Default Which Starter will You Pick

I'm currently not sure but I think right now Froakie might be my favorite so I think I'll choose it, that and based off patterns it should the most useful.

Definitely Fennekin, at least my first time through. I always do my first run with a Fire type, and XY will be no exception.

They all look great design-wise. And what's probably best about Fennekin is that there's next to no chance that it can be another Fire/Fighting type. Froakie looks like it's going to end up a Water/Ice type, something that I don't mind to much, and out of all of them, is probably my favorite. However, I'm going to go with Chespin, only because I always go with the Grass starter on my first run. I think this is the actual first generation around that I've actually desired the Water type.

I am going to choose Fennekin probably, although the one with the best stats regardless of it's looks will be the end result for me.

I usually go after the grass type but if Chespin sucks like Snivy did then I'm going with Froakie.

To be honest. This is the first time since Gen II where I've been torn between all three choices. Knowing me it'll probably come down to Chespin or Froakie.

I just voted Mozilla to screw with the polls. c:

It seems trendy right now, and everyone is jumping on this bandwagon...but screw it. Fennekin is adorable. I'm more than likely going to pick it.

When I first saw the three starters, I felt my eyes drawn immediately to Fennekin. It will be very likely that I will choose this one, but I also like Chespin a little. I felt very indifferent when I saw Froakie probably because I thought its evolution would be something like this:

Yeah, I'm not a big Seismitoad fan. >_> It's too soon to judge I suppose, but if I had to choose now, it would be Fennekin.

*u* Fennekin most likely...although, I kinda want to pick Froakie, just because he's a water type, and I always choose water types for my starters.
We'll see.

I usually choose the one that i think is adorable or cool in their forms at some point, my list is pretty much as follows;
RB - Charmander
GSC - Chikorita
RSE - Torchic
DPP - Piplup
BW/BW2 - Oshawott
XY - Most likely Fennekin

There seems to be some sort of universal affinity for Fennekin and usually none for Froakie.

I wish I could do a combo answer, but since X is the dominant game, my answer is Fennekin. But since I'm also getting Y, I'm also getting my other favorite, Froakie. Fennekin looks like it won't be a Fire/Fighting, and that's promising, plus I always love burning things. Froakie just looks pretty rad (were those glasses that I saw?), and it's a watah fwog~ Gen V reinterested me in water, so I'll give it a chance beyond its appearance.
My reaction to Chespin surprised me. Little to no like for that one, and that shocks me still. I don't know... it may change over time when I get stats and moves, but I'm feeling no initial love for it.

I'm surprisingly not that fond of this batch of starters, actually. Especially Froakie, just...ugh.

Fennekin and Chespin are the only ones who look just okay to me, but I think I'll be going with Chespin for a first run.

Now this is interesting....
I know for sure Fennekin can use Psychic moves from the trailer, so I think it will end up being a Fire/Psychic type as a final evolution. I have doubts for Froakie and Chespin however.

I think Froakie might be a Water/Ice type since it has Ice-like colors and it has the beginning of the word "frozen" or "frost" in its name. I'm not sure why that person thought Froakie would be a Water/Fighting type since it used Acrobatics in the trailer; it didn't use a Fighting move. (I just thought of the possibility of this Pokemon later being a Water/Flying type :0)

Chespin is tricky...I would like to agree that it might turn into a Grass/Dark type, but I mean look at it, it's too cute to be a Dark type ._. The only combinations that I can think of are Grass/Bug, Grass/Ground, Grass/Dark, or Grass/Fighting. Heck, it might turn out to be a pure Grass type; this one is probably the most difficult to analyze.

I have always preferred the grass-type starters since the beginning (excluding Chikorita, its stats suck), but I'm going with Froakie this time. He looks epic! I have never once found any fire-type starters to be good whatsoever.

I'll be going with Chespin since I've been a Grass user since Gen 3. Fennekin will be Snivy all over again (that's a compliement, since Snivy was well-respected by everyone).

Heres some information from Serebii about the starters:

"Nintendo has sent out some new details regarding Pokémon X & Y. Specifically, it has confirmed that the types of Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie will be pure Grass, Fire and Water respectively." (In their base forms, not confirmed evolutions yet)

Well thats a relief, that the fire one is not part Fighting type for once...

I will probably pick Chespin or Fennekin on my first run, Chespin cause I hadn't picked the Grass starter since Gen 1. And for Fenneken...as long as it's not fire fighting that and it's cute...and chespin is awesome looking

Water type starters have always been my first play through preference, so Froakie all the way. Almost went with Chespin, but I think Froakie is cooler.

Frogs are my favourite animal, so it'll have to be Froakie. But if I get both games, Chespin will almost certainly be my next choice.

Like I said on the news thread, this was a difficult choice, I love all three starters for the first time.

This will probably be the first time since I started playing the games in Ruby that I'll go with the Fire type. Something in me is drawn toward a fire fox that isn't Vulpix/Ninetails. Of course now saying that I'll end up going with the Grass starter like I normally do.

Anyone change his/her opinion over the last few months? With the games only two days away, and rather than create a new thread, I figured I'd just bump up the old one. I'm still choosing Fennekin because it's a fox and it's a fire type.

I'm sticking with Fennekin. I was considering Chespin earlier, but that fire fox is too cute. :3

Besides that, I normally don't choose Fire starters; the last time I used one in an adventure was when I played Blue version.

When I only know the base evolution of the starters, I was torn choosing between all the starters. All of them looks great. Then I saw the evolution of all the starters and I wasn't fond of Chespin's and Fennekin's final evolution. So I picked Froakie because frogs are cute. Right?

I doubt I'll be getting the games any time soon, but Froakie would be my choice. Frogs are my favorite animal.

For Unova I picked Oshawott because samurai are badass, so why wouldn't I pick Froakie who ends up being even more badass than a samurai, a ninja. Chespin would be my second choice because it goes through more of a change in it's evolutions, and I would just rather see it change.

I really did pick Froakie for Y. I want Fennekin, but now I feel bad about missing out on Chespin. And if I get the event Torchic and the Charmander I'll have too many fire types (Because ain't no way I'm passing up a Charizard.) I don't know if I should wait for the potential Pokémon Z or what...
