Also, HTTPS, eh? Could VR get a HTTPS version set up? A little selfish, but my school's blocked the http version of VR yet they never really block any HTTPS sites. :I

I think I need an SSL certificate to do that, and those are anywhere from $10 to $100 per year depending on type. Otherwise, you'll get a nasty "this site is unsigned" security warning.

Ah, well, if you have to pay for it, don't do it, but if you can get it for free and have nothing better to spend it on, I recommend it. And I know about the warnings since I have to deal with them when I use a proxy to get here at school.

I used it for half of last year and nobody caught me, i'm probably the only one at my school to use it. I guess they're just ramping up blocking this year.

It is the sign of a good site.

...*barely resists urge to go on rant about how schools blocking sites like they do is illegal*

Whats amassing is they block it despite all the rules that accely make the site safe.

Also yeah it is really illegal because it is esentally an embargo across state lines which can't be done; but with anything its open to interpretation.

Also the SSL: cert is being approved and should be up soon

Nowadays, schools simply block websites with certain tags and/or setups. They're probably just blocking vBulliten in general.

I doubt it, though that's not entirely unreasonable.

Regardless, the supreme court ruled *some* blocking was reasonable, especially with porn, etc. Blocking 2/3rds of the internet is a whole 'nother story.
