GrassPokemonFTW vs SyracuvatTenlii Battle Style: Double Battle; 3 Pokemon each Disqualification Time: One Week Damage Cap: 100 Restrictions: No OHKO moves, 2 Chills Arena: Mountains in the Air Here, worlds are far across. Ranging from lakes to forests, glaciers to caves, and swamps to deserts, this mountain in the sky holds an extremely diverse landscape. Thus, all Pokemon gain +1 Attack and Special Attack...but despite all, the landscape is treacherous. From the get-go, all Pokemon have -1 Defense and Special Defense. Weather is unchangeable - however, each turn, the weather may run rampant and change totally! The total amount of difficult staging results in seeing if your Pokemon can really battle in tandem! Due to the changing landscape, Pokemon must be slow and steady, so one cannot increase Speed here. Levitate is negated here, and Dig and Dive will not work here either. Waterfall and Surf will only work if in the presence of water, and Rock Climb, Rock Slide, Rock Throw, etc. will only work in the presence of stones, usually a cave. Syra, your Pokemon. Grass, your Pokemon and moves. Syra, your moves. |

He was both the fastest one and the wisest one there. His eyes began to glow a light pink as result of his psychic energy. He began emanating energy all around him as a psychic aura engulfed himself. He was getting ready to create a barrier between him and the opposing attacks. He created a tall, thin screen in front of him. This screen was almost invisible and would absorb most of the damage special moves did to Arcana. Xatu: -1 Energy; Light Screen for 5 turns Euxceli was starting to grow nervous. She had noticed her opponent, a Grass type Pokemon named Excalibur, was keeping his eye on her, following every movement she made. This made her grow paranoid of him. She wouldn't let her paranoia get to her, though. Euxceli brought her hands to her hips, preparing an ancient ritual that a tribe of native Blastoise taught her. She began swaying her hips and tapping her feet, starting the tempo of this ancient dance. She had noticed that there were no clouds in the sky. This made her freak out and she began dancing faster and faster, bringing the dance's tempo to soft and slow to loud and fast. Euxceli was freaking out as the weather stayed the same. She didn't know what to do! Buizel: -6 Energy; MOVE FAILED Arena restricts weather from being physically changed Excalibur snickered at the dumbfound Buizel. He loved watching her fail epicly. Servine began looking for leaves for his next attack. He searched any and everywhere until he finally had a good amount of leaves. Using his "touch" with nature, he began kicking up a wind. This wind blew hard, picking up the leaves and sending them flying to Euxceli! Servine: -10 Energy The leaves were aiming straight towards Euxceli, and she could do nothing but watch in horror. Vaeliu, her companion, was feeling brave, so he was going to sacrifice his health in order to save her. He raced towards the leaves, hoping he could make it. Right before they hit Euxceli, Vaeliu jumped in front of them, using his body as a shield! Moving his wings in odd directions, a thin and clear barrier formed around both himself and Excalibur. While it seemed to be weak, something about it made pyhsical attacks do only half damage. Xatu: -3 Energy; Light Screen for 4 turns; Reflect for 5 turns Since nobody had attacked their side of the field, Euxceli decided to thank Vaeliu for his selflessness. Remembering a medicial technique known by the Buizels, Euxceli did an interesting dance and sprayed a ring of water around Riolu. She then sprayed a second one, overlapping the first one a little. Then, both rings of water seemed to come to life, now "orbiting" around Vaeliu. They were now constantly replenishing Vaeliu's health! Buizel: -4 Energy After his first attack hit the wrong target, Excalibur tried something a little different. Screaming up into the clouds, he summoned glowing root-like plants up from the ground. They seemed to follow his every command. With a war-like cry, he gestured towards Euxceli. This time, that Buizel would be the victim. The roots grabbed Euxceli, turning the glow on the roots from green to red. This red glow now surrounded Euxceli, who was having her energy drained. This sapped evergy seemed to be entering Excalibur, but it was useless as Excalibur had not yet been touched. Buizel: -18 Health Servine: +9 Health; -5 Energy Vaeliu was amazed and thankful for Euxceli's Aqua Ring. He was now healing. However, Servine's assault of Euxceli made him crave revenge. This fury set his soul ablaze. It also set his foot ablaze. It was time to strike. Jumping high in the air, Vaeliu came down hard, his fiery foot landing square on Servine's head. Even though the barrier seemed to soften the blow, Excalibur still looked to be crippled by the attack. More then that, it looked as if Servine was burned. Euxceli's trainer fished from his pocket a shiny red Poké Ball, which had been used to catch Euxceli. A reddish beam shot from the device, enveloping the Buizel. It too turned into a red beam-like energy, and was returned to it's Ball. Pulling another Poké Ball out, he called out a new creature, but this one was much tinier than Buizel. Now winning seemed easier to the trainer. Buizel: Switched for Pichu On the other side of the field, Arcana's trainer had told him to use Skill Swap to help with Excalibur's burn. Being very wise, Xatu knew this wouldn't work for the burn, but supposed it would help Excalibur to have his ability. Looking up towards the sun, Arcana called down two bright yellow orbs. One went into Anrcana, and one into Excalibur. A bright flash momentarily blinded the trainers, and the two orbs swapped places. Their abilities were switched! Xatu: -4 Energy; Ability is now Contrary Reflect for 4 turns Light Screen for 3 turns Servine: Ability is now Magic Bounce This was an interesting situation that Excalibur did not expect. While that Buizel was no longer on the field of play, he still felt the need to strike that side of the field. Once again, he called out the mystical life-sucking roots. Instead of Euxceli being the target, however, in her place was but a tiny Pichu. The roots once again surrounded themselves and their target in a reddish glow on contact, and yet this didn't restore as much energy to Excalibur. Perhaps It was from a lack of a type advantage. Either way, it still proved to be not enough, as the burn looked to deal out more damage than what was restored. Servine: -5 Health; -8 Energy BURNED for 4 turns Pichu: -17 Health Vaeliu came last in the round. Again aiming for Excalibur, he began a risky endeavor. Spreading his arms apart, Vaeliu charged towards Servine. A hard hit seemed sure. Servine stared as Vaeliu charged towards him, obviously frozen with fear after what had happened in the last round. When Vaeliu was right next to Excalibur, he quickly crossed his arms, and... nothing. As this move was very powerful, Vaeliu was very disappointed to see that he hadn't done it right. The turn seemed to be over. However, then it began to rain! Clearly this was going to be a wild battle. He brought up his wings above his head, the tips just almost touching. Bringing forth a ball of white light, Xatu hurled it at a confident Pichu. Pichu stared down the ball, but this was a bad idea. After a while of staring, Pichu saw a rainbow of colors explode in her mind. It was truly overwhelming, and confusing as well. The white ball dissipated, but Pspaaxtte could still only see the rainbows of color. Pichu was now both defenseless and thoroughly confused. Xatu: -4 Energy Reflect for 3 turns Light Screen for 2 turns Pichu: CONFUSED for 5 turns As Arcana was confusing his target, Excalibur had his eyes set on another prize. Still wincing from Vaeliu's Blaze Kick, he wanted Riolu to feel his pain. He reared back, shutting his eyes. Mentally lining up the shot, he quickly leaned forward, making direct eye contact with Vaeliu. Across the field, Riolu could feel the eerie presence of the stare. When their eyes met, the Riolu was so overcome that he cowered backwards into a state of half-petrification, frozen with fear. The move was successful. The burn, however, still inflicted damage. Servine: -2 Energy, -12 Health, BURNED for 3 turns Riolu: PARALYZED for 5 turns Rainbows. There were only rainbows. Pichu had no idea where she was, or her targets, making pulling off a Thunder practically impossible. Still, she had to capitalize on the opportunity. Focusing her energy and discharging, Pspaaxtte released an amazing electric blast towards the sky. It had to hit SOMETHING, she thought. Suddenly, she heard a deafening crash, and an agonizing cry. It was obviously that of a Xatu. Miraculously, Pspaaxtte hit her mark, even through this confusion. Pichu: -10 Energy, CONFUSED for 4 turns Xatu: -25 Health That was a nasty stare-down Excalibur gave Vaeliu. It was time for payback. He'd slow that Servine down because of what he did. It was time for a Low Sweep. He could taste a slow-down for himself. Yeah, that's what he'd do! And yet, those eyes... Those terrible, menacing eyes. Vaeliu imagined those eyes over and over. So eerie and creepy, Vaeliu couldn't even think to face them. He decided to wait. Yeah, that's what he'd do. Riolu did not launch an attack this turn. It was still raining. Ouch, that wasn't too good...hm...Arcana, we'll have to play on offense. And quickly, too; they still have energy to spare. Go ahead and attack Riolu with Psychic, but if he decides to protect himself, go ahead and change that to Shadow Ball on that pesky Pichu. Excalibur, you go ahead and drain that Pichu's health with another Giga Drain. Just in case there's a twist and Pspaaxtte protects itself as well, then use Growth to gain a little attack power.

Staring at Vaeliu, the blue aura transferred to Vaeliu's body. Now in complete control, Arcana aimlessly tossed Vaeliu around like a ragdoll. When he felt that enough punishment was dealt, he threw Vaeliu to the ground. Xatu: -7 Energy, Reflect for 2 turns, Light Screen for 1 turn Riolu: -22 Health Still suffering from a burn, Excalibur wanted to soften the blows as much as possible. Crying to the sky, special green roots surfaced from below, coming from the holes where they had come out twice before. Directing them towards Pspaaxtte, they wrapped around the Pichu, sucking energy out of the tiny creature. Enjoying this fuel-up, Excalibur was surprised to find the burn deal more damage than what was restored. Servine: -9 Energy, -3 Health, BURNED for 2 turns Pichu: -17 Health Still fighting off the thirsty roots, Pspaaxtte aimed a Thunder at Excalibur to help the attack to cease. Calling upon all of her energy, Pspaaxtte shot out a strong thunderbolt. It went up through the rainclouds, and struck down. However, it did not hit her intended target. It had hit Arcana instead! Even better, Arcana seemed crippled by the bolt, with several small sparks racing around his body. Okay, Vaeliu, we need to get rid of this now. Take a moment to try to clear your head of that thing, and go for a Poison Jab on Excalibur (Official's note: Any attempt to immediately get rid of status effects should have a 50% chance of success.) Pspaaxtte, you do the same. Focus yourself to get the confusion out of your head, then go for a Charge Beam to Arcana that may hopefully give you a boost!

Excalibur slyly smirked, but then his burn replaced one burning desire for another. Servine: -13 Energy, -12 Health, -2 SP ATK, BURNED for 1 turn Pichu: -25 Health Being sliced, diced, hacked, and slashed by leaves didn't help Pspaaxtte much at all. She felt like she went through a blender set to puree. Still dizzy from confusion, Pspaaxtte focused hard on Arcana. Clearing all thoughts, she fired a beam of electricity at him. Not only did it clip Arcana's wing, but as he fell, he landed on a sharp rock, creating more damage. Even better, Pspaaxtte seemed to be thinking clearly now! Pichu: -7 Energy, CONFUSION lifted Xatu: -8 Health Stuggling to move, Arcana tried to pass on his conditions to a willing participant. Focusing his remaining energy, Arcana magically lifted all of his paralysis out of his body and into a red ball. Concentrating hard, he moved the ball using ESP towards Pspaaxtte. It went inside of the Pichu, and she immediately keeled over. In an ironic twist, Pspaaxtte was paralyzed by her own paralysis that she inflicted! Suddenly, a barrier flickered and faded. Xatu: -5 Energy, PARALYSIS lifted, Reflect for 1 turn, Light Screen lifted Pichu: PARALYZED for 4 turns Vaeliu was slightly jealous of Arcana. If he could get rid of paralysis like that, Vaeliu wondered, why couldn't he? He thought very hard, removing all thoughts of Excalibur's piercing yellow eyes. No matter how hard he tried, though, he couldn't do it. Even worse, now that he thought about it, Vaeliu couldn't bring himself to move away from the spot where he was standing. He wanted to feel joyful too. To help with that, he called his mystical life-sucking root friends back out of the earth. He again directed them at Pspaaxtte. They gladly obliged, creeping over to the battered Pichu. She was so distraught from the previous move that she let more energy than usual flow through the roots before fighting them off. The burn then gave one final burst of pain before healing completely. Servine: -3 Health, -7 Energy, BURN lifted, ATK returned to +1 Pichu: -20 Health After being battered like that, it would have been unkind of Pspaaxtte to return the favor, right? Charging up a relatively weak charge, she ran over to Arcana, and gave him the electricity. It surged up his body, locking up his every muscle. Arcana fell over, completely paralyzed by the static charge. Pspaaxtte's job was complete. Pichu: -4 Energy, PARALYZED for 3 turns Xatu: PARALYZED for 5 turns Vaeliu was ashamed of his weakness. He desperately craved to battle again. Charging to the other side of the field, he kept his eyes shut, lest he catch a glimpse of Excalibur's dreaded show-stopping eyes. Vaeliu came up to Excalibur, and spun to aim a fiery foot straight to the side of his head. Vaeliu underestimated his jump height, though; he cleared Excalibur's head and simply kicked air. Even more ashamed, he returned to his side of the field. Suddenly all of the rain disappeared, and the weather was suddenly very plain. Swinging at Excalibur's shield, it seemed to give, but stayed put. Vaeliu was surprised to see a tiny scorch mark where he had kicked. He was so angry, he lost all memories of Excalibur's eyes. It was probably Pspaaxtte's paralysis taking full effect, which was a good thing for him and Euxceli. He took another run at Excalibur, launching a fiery foot at him. It nailed him in the head, and Excalibur crumpled once more. Vaeliu noticed that Excalibur was more ready for this one, though. Maybe it was time for a strategy change-up... Riolu: -8 Energy Servine: -16 Health Arcana moved last this turn, and planned to change that. Dumping off every spark into a ball of red energy, he concentrated, moving the ball with his mind. It traveled slowly, moving towards Euxceli. It was just about to hit her when something happened. A stray spark in Arcana's system locked up a muscle, throwing off his concentration. Urk...this is really not good...Arcana, you've got to play defensively, even though you're paralyzed. Do a quick Sucker Punch on Euxceli, but if Euxceli doesn't attack Excalibur, and Vaelliu attacks instead, then use Protect instead. Excalibur, we're in a tight spot here, so if Euxceli attacks, then use Protect. Otherwise, we'll go try and out loud and proud with a final Solarbeam!

Using the power of his mind, he cast up a telekinetic barrier. It was thin, but was very strong, and Arcana felt secure in it. Xatu: -5 Energy, PROTECTED for 1 turn, PARALYZED for 1 turn Vaeliu saw that Euxceli seemed to be cowering inside her water dome, and wondered why. As soon as he saw Excalibur and saw the smug look on his face, he knew why. All he wanted now was to wipe that look off his face. Running faster than he usually did, Vaeliu struck Excalibur with a hit-and-run style move. Excalibur crumbled, but with a last push, came back up. Riolu: -4 Energy Servine: -8 Health Even Excalibur was amazed at how he was still standing. He decided to give a nice parting gift to Euxceli. Absorbing sunlight, he collected an enormous beam of energy. He launched it at Euxceli. It sped towards her, and hit her shield with great force and might. Powering through the shield, many cracks came to form. However, Euxceli's shield prevailed, sending the beam of light in all directions. Suddenly, the sun was extinguished by clouds, the temperature dropped, and hail started falling from the sky! Vaeliu, we need to be able to outnumber our final opponent, so keeping Euxceli on her feet is priority number 1, so protect her if she's in danger. Otherwise, go for Arcana with Strength. Euxceli, should Vaeliu not be able to go for Arcana or if he somehow doesn't finish the job, hit Arcana with Water Pulse. If it's down to that Garbodor, hit him with the same attack.

Vaeliu was picked up on the other side of the field, and could only hope it would end quickly. Twisted and pummeled in midair, Vaeliu was only a ragdoll. Okay, time to go all out. Euxceli, while Vae's still hiding in the ground, take advantage of the pouring rain and use surf to wash that Garbodor out. Vaeliu, Euxceli might go down this turn. If that happens, use Retaliate; otherwise, come out of the ground and hit that Garbodor with reversal. This can be turned in our favor yet.

However, after surveying the field, he was quite shocked to find that he was the only Pokémon on his side! This meant that Euxceli and Vaeliu would probably double team him this turn. Using the ESP device from earlier, he created a psychic shield around himself. Now those 2 wouldn't mess with him. Garbodor: -5 Energy, PROTECTED for 1 turn Now that she knew that she wasn't a target, Euxceli was all business. She knew that that heaping mound of a dump would have to go down somehow, so she took this authority into her own paws. Drawing water from the aquatic area of the stadium, Euxceli created a monstrous tidal wave, swamping the field. However, it hit nobody, passing over everybody. Buizel: Move FAILED (Protection {Garbodor}, Semi-Invincible {Riolu}), -7 Energy, +6 Health, AQUA RING for 1 turn Vaeliu was still digging underground, but he was stopped when some water slapped his back. While this was interesting, he noticed that a lack of health caused his aura to hold him in place. Maybe this could be used to his advantage. He dug up, burrowing out of his sub-terranean land. Channeling pure life force into one arm, Vaeliu brought it down on Garbage in one swift chop. At least, he thought he did. It had only reflected off the barrier, leaving no damage. Suddenly, a wind kicked up in the rocky section of the arena, throwing dust in everyone's eyes! That's about all I have the patience for. Euxceli, go in with a Blizzard. Vaeliu, that Sludge Wave is probably going to beat you within an inch of your life, but if you can hang on, use everything you've got and hit that Garbodor with Reversal. If, by some miracle, Euxceli can freeze him with Blizzard, though, don't bother-- just go ahead and take a nap.

Her one goal in mind at the moment was to end this whole thing. That trash heap was the final obstacle in the path to glory. She called an enormous amount of moisture to her side, and froze it solid. Even though it was healing her, she also froze her Aqua Ring. Then, she let a blinding snowstorm loose strainght on top of Garbage! Garbage, however, held strong. He obviously was all business at this point. Buizel: -11 Energy, +6 Health, AQUA RING ended Garbodor: -16 Health As Garbage was heating back up with a hairdryer from inside of him, he decided that 2 could play the "giant, side-eating move" game. From all around Garbage's body, he began secreting a toxic ooze. This quickly multiplied, and seemed to have a mind of it's own! When a plentiful amount had gathered, he called it away. It swamped the other side of the field, and left both Euxceli and Vaeliu tired and battered. Garbodor: -7 Energy Buizel: -16 Health Riolu: -16 Health Vaeliu knew that he had a good run up to this point, and wasn't afraid to go at this point. He knew, though, that he would never forgive himself for not giving that thing a good parting blow. He took his final aura reserves, and looked to Garbage. Even though it would be resisted, this would hurt. He went up to the trash heap, and fired everything into Garbage. What happened next came in slow-motion: Garbage toppling over from the power of the blow dealt, followed by Vaeliu turning around. He gave one small smile over at Euxceli, and then collapsed, done in by the intense sandstorm...
