Yes, adding shading is fine in Re-Types and Fusions. Basically anything that invovles fusing.
It's not fine in recolors though.

Geodude and Chimecho (You choose base)

ohh I made the outlines black.I saw that the munchlax in the tutorial has black outlines so I made them like that.

I see you've started to get better. But again, the outlines are a problem. Whenever you have an inferno with a color theme. you're outline must match the theme. You don't put a green outline on an aqua inferno. It has to match
The reason the Munchlax has a black outline is cause it's theme is based on a dark purple.

And what do you mean by written test? A written test as an exam for here is pretty much useless. Your exam is recoloring challenging sprites.

They're getting better I have to say. The inferno can be better in places. And when you do Infernoes, you wanna ifnerno the eye too. Don't leave it black like you did on Pikachu.

Alright.
In Fusions you fuse 2 Pokemon and make it look like an offspring of those 2 Pokemon. When you fuse, you want to make sure the parts you fuse are clean and fused properly. You don;t want it to look like you cut off a body part and just pasted it anywhere without fixing it up.
It's also okay to fix shading in here if the shading looks weird.
First Assignment:

The Infernoes are fine. The Pillowshade isn't really correct. When you Pillowshade, you use the Pokemon's colors only for that body part or marking. For example, you would've done Munna's body pink, and it's flower markings purple or whatever color it is. Instead, it looks like a pink inferno. XP

It looks better than the previous one. The main problem is the outline. You have what looks like Palkia's original outlines on it. Please change the outlines.

Do that, and you pass. :3

The Croconaw is fine. You want to keep markings on the Pokemon though. You shouldn't have removed it

It;s outlines actually weren't changed. And I saw hardly any difference in all three sprites. They looked like duplicates.

Okay.
Revamps are taking an older retro gen sprite and editing it to look like a newer gen sprite. They can get quite complicated with hard Pokemon.
Some things to remember
- Always edit the shading. Since the older sprites have only at least 2 colors and hardly any shading, you must edit it to give it highlights and shadows.
- Fix disproportionate parts. You don't want to Revamp an Aipom and have it only have 4 fingers.
- Edit the outlines. When you shade, you also want to "shade" the outlines. If you've noticed, the sprites outlines aren't just one black line around them. They have multiple colors. When the light is shining on a specific part, the outline isn't pure black, it's a lighter shade of the part being shone upon.

Let's give you an assignment now:



Rvamp all 3 using HG/SS colors. And the Totodile is shiny btw. So make it Shiny when you revamp.

Well advanced recolors are more advanced versions of recolors. In advanced recolors, you recolor a Pokemon by following a theme. This requires making your own color palette and sometimes scratching markings or accessories on a Pokemon.

Let's start you off with something easy:

You can't really tell very well, but I tried to make the end of Treecko's tail look like Charmanders, using the colors of the flame.

Well, you seem to got the basics down. The Treecko tail is soemthing I haven't seen. It's cool, but not really needed. Basically an extra. And in basic recolors we don't add any markings from the original Pokemon. We just recolor.

That class requires Basic Fusions, which requires Basic Recolors, and the only class you've passed. is Infernoes. XP

The Fall Bulbasaur is great. So is the Treecko. It would've been alright without the flowers, and they seem cluttered on its tail.

And what's so hard about the Winter Turtwig? Just think of icy snow, dark brown soil, dead trees. I wanna see you try it at least. :3

It was hard to add on to Ho-oh but personally I loved the way that the recolor turned out ..As for Blastoise and Venusaur I'm not sure how it's even possible to fuse very much of 'em. Just gave Blastiose the eyes and crown thingy. Did my best with it. And Entei and Raikou just suck. :3



Just sayin' that fusing legendaries is near to impossible ._.

And...let's go with Fusions next, since I want to learn Chaos. Everything has been leading up to Chaos. I mean, technically I've been doing Fusions and Recolors for 8-10 years...just not with Pokemon Sprites. I used to do sprites from the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Another Story RPG game. >.>

Naturally if you'd like to just give me the Fusions exam...


Toxeon - Contains Leafeon, Gliscor, and Drifblim...colored to be Poison Type.


Phanteon - Contains Flareon, Gardevoir, and Duskull...colored to be Ghost Type.

I love the Miltank. The Wailmer is... weird. You put the marking in a random place. normally they have the marking above their eyes, or around it.
Sorry, but you're notg etting an alt. assignment for the Grimer. It's not even that hard.
Recolor it to look radioactive. Bright green, eye hurting. What you interpret as radioactive. =p

Look at Chibi's. It's radioactive.

Well. They don't actually just have one color. The colors just end up being so close together that it just kinda...blends in. Hopefully I've fixed that with these.



I dunno if it's just because there's not much detail to them or what...but Persian looks a lot like a Meowth. >.>

And you could see the shading much better now. it didn't contrast well earlier.
The problem with Persian is that it doesn't look much different from Meowth, except for the removal of its headpiece.
And Smeargle looks mad a bit. XD

Alright. Well basic recolors are swapping one Pokemon's colors with another. You don;t edit anything in the Pokemon, except the colors.
Remember:
Always save as .PNG or .GIF
Always recolor lightest shade to lightest, darkest to darkest, etc

Then do:
Purrloin as Mewoth
Glameow as Pidgey
Wurmple as Weedle
