Thumbs up Old Question, Old Game

Does anybody remember in (I think) FireRed and LeafGreen this old guy in a house that talked about his house being drafty? Behind him was a door way covered up by boxes. I never figured out if you could do anything with that or get into the door...Just a random question I was wondering about today.

That's pretty much nearly every PC in every house you just described.

I'm pretty sure there's something like that in Emerald's Sootopolis City too. From what I remember, I think it had something to do with using an e-reader. (Don't take my word for it though)

I did actually enable such an e-Reader feature in Lilycove City in Sapphire using the Battle-e cards. I never tried them with other games, so I am not sure, but I have heard about the houses of which you speak.

Yeah. Cat also mentioned using the e-reader. I think it has something to do with that. At least I have something else to help my search.

Yeah I remember my brother getting one for his birthday and we were trying to do something with the cards that you could swipe and it wouldn't work at all so he sold it like 3 days after he got it to one of his friends.

Funny thing is, when they first revealed Ruby and Sapphire the e-reader got revealed along side it like it was the next big thing for the franchise.

Right, wasn't the e-reader trying to get in on the whole "barcode" scanning toys that were coming out? I remember the one that you scanned grocery store barcodes and could capture monsters and stuff. The e-reader had a good concept, combining the card game with the handheld, but they had a bad delivery I guess.

The Barcode Battler? I've seen that thing. It didn't work as well as advertised.

I never got one, my friends at school wouldn't shut up about it though. I just remember them asking people for their empty snack bags so they could scan them.

Fun fact: the Barcode Battler has a Super Famicom game that it can link up with.
