Direct information from Serebii:
During the Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Pokémon X & Y will include the new Fairy-type which includes Sylveon, Gardevoir, Jigglypuff and Marill and is super effective against Dragon types. A new Pokémon was also revealed called Vivilion and one called Noivern. |

I have an odd feeling I will get addicted to playing around with Pokémon-Amie.
It appears like Fairy is strong against Dragon and immune to it too...and that's it, with neutrality against everything else. Kind of boring, but maybe they weren't trying to upset the formula? |

I like the sound of a generally neutral type except for Dragon, but no weaknesses doesn't sound very good balance wise. |

A few things from watching the trailer:
-Nice, the 2 new Pokémon revealed look pretty good. -The trailer also reveals 2 new moves, Boomburst and the Fairy-type Moonblast. -The Fairy type could be based on the principle that a type of magic is used to help defeat dragons (possible weaknesses similar to Psychic weaknesses?) -Near the end of the trailer, when Yvetal is seen firing off a beam-like attack, is that a Gen II-style Aeroblast sound clip I hear in the background? Possible new item to get retro move sound effects like the GB Sounds in HG/SS? Otherwise, everything looks pretty good, we'll just have to see what gets presented tonight to see what's added on from today! |

Has anyone noticed in the trailer that Helioptile was stepped on before attacking, so said the text box? A new way of encountering Pokemon, perhaps?
Also, Pokemon-Aime. Now I want Floatzel to be in this game even more now because of this. All of my yes, Game Freak, all of my yes. |

OHMAIGAWDOHMAIGAWD!!! Noivern is just TOOO FREAKING ADORABLE~! Finally a Wyvern!!! <33 (I'm going to have a hard time deciding between these new #1 favorites of Lugia, Yveltal and now Noivern) Anyways, I am glad Fairy type is real, I felt it was going to be real all along ever since they showed that Sylveon thing. Glad it is now, but sad that Dragon type now has a new weakness to watch out for! ;A; Poke-Amie looks soo adorable, I want to pet a Lugia or a Noivern now! :3
Also in the trailer, I love the small things such as the trainer Xavier turning his head as he ran past a store or some other facility you can go into when running in the city. Small little details like that will make this an even more amazing game. |

Fairy type, huh? Interesting. I guess it's because late-game you tend to encounter a lot of dragons, and they only have one weakness assuming you don't already have a dragon-type of your own. Not to mention Dragon-type itself is pretty much a trump card over all types except Steel, so it's nice to have one more thing that can stand up against them easily. It just makes Gardevoir all the more desirable!
They didn't show Clefairy in the list of new Fairy-types, though, which is odd. I assume it will be, and they only showed a selection, but I don't get why they didn't show THAT one of all Pokémon. |
