Default Wii will not read discs

It started today: I was playing MK Wii, and all of a sudden, it said "An error has occured. Please eject..." and so on. I tried putting the game back in the Wii. It would be all sputtery and the same message would appear. I tried again, and the games wouldn't even spin in the Wii and it would say "Cannot read disc" on the Disc channel. However, when GC games were inserted, they could be read (well, at least Super Mario Sunshine) and function normally.

I did some researching and came across the Wii Lens Cleaning Kit. It's supposed to clean the lens inside the Wii so it can read games better. Is it worth my time and money?

If you need more info to help me, I'll be happy to give.

Yeah, give the cleaning kit a shot and see if that works.
