A Politically Correct Nightmare
a poem by Charlie Perez
Focus on irrelevancies
Never blink, just stare
Drift away from reality
Don't until you're there
Then move deep through your fantasy
Retreat into your mind
A secret place where you are free
And they will never find
The brain of a genius bestowed upon you
A gift that you must hide
They pick on you, a social plunder
Pure, personified
Nobody will understand you
Story of your life
You remain a pure enigma
Double-bladed knife
Cannot handle simple tasks
Wish they'd sympathize
The distant future comes
See a shocked look in their eyes
This shall be your destiny
But you're not quite there
So just focus on irrelevancies
Never blink, just stare
