Wow even the Pokemon VGC refs and moderators allowed me to do that.

Its usually not excepted. Some forums even hate the mention of it. Its just a bit unfair to be able to EV train, make movesets, set perfect IVs, and get a level 100 pokemon within seconds.

Ill be using a damage caculator during my matches to see if anyone is cheating.

I agree that you shouldn't use hack pokemon even if they are legit. Obviously they would dominate because they have the best stats within the "safe" realm and it really takes the fun from all the non-cheating players and then the game goes down to who has the best hacked stats. Hope you understand that it spoils the fun from people.

Are the Legendary trio's allowed? They're not normally counted as ubers.
I've nearly got my SS Feraligatr to lvl 50, so I think he'll be in there. Really good stats!
Also, if you see me with a red Gyarados, it's from Sapphire, NOT Soul Silver

In the über list it said garchomp was not allowed. But in ditto's rough draft he didn't say garchomp was banned. So can I use garchomp or not?

No you may not, the reason being is because the rough draft is just that: a rough draft. I said the rules are set to change and the rules as of right now are no Ubers. Garchomp is in the Uber Tier.

There's been a topic to decide and vote for the date since Thursday. The poll already closed. You may go to the topic here: http://floatzel.net/phpbb/viewtopic....st=0&sk=t&sd=a

The thing that sets them apart is there speed. Garchomp is fast, bulky, has high attack stats and high powered moves. Tyranitor is similar but his speed is kind of pitiful making him alot easier to take down.

1. Any Fourth Generation game from any region of the world may be used (that's right, Hg/Ss are free game if you imported them)
2. This tournament shall be conducted in a single battle format, in 6 on 6 matches, at Level 50 all. (For all of you that signed up later, we already had a poll for this. This is the way it is going to stay.)
3a. You may not use two or more of the same Pokémon or item within your team
3b. You may not use the item Soul Dew
4. The following Pokémon are not permitted: (the list is here: http://www.smogon.com/dp/tiers/uber. I'm not gonna list them out right now. It will be listed out in the final draft.)
5. You may only use legitimately obtained Pokémon with legitimately obtained moves. (Please be honest on this one.)
6. If there is some sort of problem, please contact a Tournament Official (not sure who they will be yet, but I have a pretty good idea...) and they will sort it out.

Tell me if I missed any points, please. Also, these rules are subject to changes, as this is what this topic is for
I may have a couple of problems, on the fifth rule I don't know if my Pokemon can be qualified but I would like to be sure, you see most of the pokemon I use in my party are from either Colossem or Gale, and in the rules it says "with legitmately obtained moves," and we all know pokemon that was imported from either Colosseum or Gale was most likely a Shadow Pokemon, also once the Shadow Pokemon is purified the shadow moves are turned into normal moves but some moves aren't learned normally. Basically for my first question is would these moves be counted as non-legit moves? For my second question is a massive problem when it comes to opponets I face Wi-Fi, I have 3 certain pokemon both obtainable in Colosseum and Gale, and before HG/SS came out these 3 (or 9 counting the pre-evolutions) Pokemon they were preatty rare to get. Now I obtained these 3 from Colosseum, the 3 are Meganium, Feraligatr, and Typhlosion, now even though these pokemon wouldn't normally be counted off, however people always suspect when a starter is hacked they're in a different ball other than a normal Poke' Ball. That's basically the problem because Typhlosion was caught in a Premier Ball, Feraligatr was caught in a Net Ball, and for Meganium was caught in a Ultra Ball, you can now see how this can be a problem and I just need to know is will they be counted as legal? I hope I can get an answer soon because I kinda want to enter in this tournament and I want to make sure I'm all good or if I may need to do some changes to my party.

Of course that's legal! Anything caught through normal means in any official game is allowed. Events are also allowed (like the Pikachu-colored Pichu, evolved into a Raichu) as long as they aren't on the banned list.

I've only read to page 7 or so.

But as far as the level 50 or level 100 rule goes.

It kind of makes a pretty big difference. If you do level 50, that means you can't use pokemon that would evolve after level 50. Like tyranitar for example. That's what level 50 means.

It's Lv. 50 All. That rule will auto-level your Pokémon, even if they are above 50, to 50. They will retain all moves and their current evolution.

(I'm getting really sick of answering this question.)

Mine actually was regarding to the follow, not the typical idiotic pokemon nub question: . There have been tournaments like this. I forget which one it was but it was some national one or something. But by level 50 they meant you can't use stuff that evolves after level 50 or gets a move that is after level 50 etc, like tyranitar. I just wanted to make sure.

so its NOT a dumb question >_>.

IMO Jirachi should be an uber but nope. I guess its stats are too well rounded. It has a 100 base for all stats but because its so balanced it is considered OU instead of UBER. Same with Celebi.

PLEASE, YOU CAN'T BEAT THE WOBBSTER! :V
Seriously you can't. hes like guaranteed to get atleast 1 kill unless someone uses toxic. His ability shadow tag make it so the opponent can't switch so you can just thrown him in on someone with a all offensive moveset and counter/Mirror coat them to death. He can lock people into moves as well with encore, and stop himself from getting static ailments with Safegaurd.

Wobbster trumps all! :V

Yeah, Wobbefett is usually one that is never considered to be an uber Pokemon. It's nigh unstoppable due to its ability to repel nearly every attack thrown at it and result in an OHKO.

I have a question about rule 5.

5. You may only use legitimately obtained Pokémon with legitimately obtained moves. (Please be honest on this one.)

Does that mean i can use an action replay or cheats to get pokemon or make them shiny?
Technically if i did that, i could trade it into my other game and it would be legitimately obtained through a trade.

We're working on an honor system here. We really have no way to check, but since you would have used an AR, then it's not legit, even if it is traded, because you know it was AR'ed. Another thing is that if you get something from the GTS, and you think it looks... not right, please don't use it.

If you have any doubt about a Pokémon you received, please don't use it. Sometimes, you're able to tell by either the ball it was caught in or the place. Those are the two big ones. If anybody else knows any other way to tell, please don't hesitate to share.

No chances, sorry.
If it was hacked into the game that means that who ever made it could have really screwed around with the stats and make the perfect pokemon without any effort. Shiny or not, no hacks pl0x.

And as to detecting if a pokemon is hacked or not, ill be using a damage caculator with my battles to tell if my opponent has made the stats higher then there suppose to be, or if there EVs and IVs are perfect. (The chances are very slim for IVs to be perfect. About as slim as catching a shiny pokemon.)

If you think anything's out of line, then you would tell one of the Tournament officials, which will probably be posted when the brackets are, when the sign-ups close, and I don't mind the retelling of rules. It makes it easier for me so I don't have to respond all the time

Shinies have an extremely low chance of appearing in game (just less than 1/8000) unless you chain. But this topic isn't for discussing shinies.

Ev's or Effort Values help with stats. For every 4 Ev's, you get plus 1 extra stats. I'm not sure what IV's are? Serebii explains it though.

Will these rules need any changes before the tournament or can we confirm them as the set-in-stone rules?

Well, I did forget to put one thing in, but I realized it too late. It could mess up a spot on someone's team, and that's not very fair to do that this close to the date. Other than that, I think it is pretty set in stone.

My team was set for both those anyway. Don't have a single evasion/1HKO attack on my team (few status inducers, but those are just fun sometimes XP) Like I said before, I can't wait for the turnout on this. We're going to have some epic battles, I just wish I could watch um all, lol!

2 quick questions:
1. Will this take place on Friday? My brother said he wanted to use the Wii then, so I should know in advance...
2. Can we use the Chatbox for discussion during the battle?

Yeah. I encourage you to be there, but make sure that if you are using Platinum to post a battle number for the battle on a thread that will be made that day.
