MySQL drops are the bane of my existence. They happen infrequently in the VRIM alpha and very frequently on VR. And it's beginning to make me want to go to the server host location and beat the machines operating it to death, then slap Cat and ICEE with a fish wrapped in newspaper obituaries.

If I had to elect one thing that has put a hinderance on my outlook of 2010, this would be it. I have hated the server for nearly fourteen months now. It never worked right, and I honestly don't know what the best option is. Financially, moving is just way too expensive for me because moving hasn't seemed to take less than a week, and some hosts charge at the end of each month regardless of when you start your hosting. Currently, I pay $124 every month (with much of it recovered by advertising) for hosting. I really feel like I'm not getting my money's worth, either.

if only it was as simple as that.^
I just fixed the mine craft issuse. Its not that it was using too much cpu or mem. its just we ran out of ram so the server was swaping. Also freeze make sure on your vm you have mod_cache on but disabled for disk cashing, because disk I/O is the bottleneck we have on this server. As well as set the sysctl variable vm.swappiness to 0 so the vms use swap as a last resort. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwapFaq Last edited by KingOfKYA; February 11, 2011 at 10:48:27 AM. |
