I'd hardly consider the topic one a "bug" but the 7.2 one is pretty bad, even though I doubt nobody except for a troll or a pissed off person would kick anyone in the chat, unless it were for fun. Also, it'd be RC 1, not RC 9, unless it were Beta 9.

I know the number would be "RC1", but I am not starting over the numbering. It would just confuse everybody.

Also, sorry for it being slow. KYA tends to only work on it at night. It seems like it's going to be delayed to next week if we can't do work on it tomorrow night.

When do you estimate beta 7 will be released for the public?

Beta 7 has been released...in private beta.
7.1 was also released, but leaked.
and 7.2 has a massive error.

Beta 8/RC1 should be out soon. =3
Whether it'll be private or not, we'll come to find out.(I say that there should at least be some period of beta testing it, so we can look through any and all possible screw ups to make sure the final release product is good though.)

I promise that we are only a single feature and a little bit of testing away from releasing it publicly. The only trouble is KYA has been having lots of schoolwork lately, so he hasn't had time to work on it. Trust me, we are seriously almost ready.

Well, technically anyone who runs the program is a beta tester. 7 won't be distributed anymore.

Yes, we only have one feature left before it will be released: moderation (editing, deleting, banning). Then we will check for bugs and release it to the public.

Small suggestion, but could a counter be added that lets you know how many letters you have in your post compared to how many are allowed (like on the forum chat)?

Oh, and don't forget... IPAD ,IPHONE, AND ITOUCH APP Just Kidding. Hoping for Beta 8 or Version 1.0 to release soon.

EDIT: How about, if you right click on a message, it would also make a drop-down menu (mods only) that would say "Edit Message" and "Delete Message" (Non mods can edit and delete their own)

EDIT(again): In the username drop-down menu idea of mine (If you approved it ) how about also adding a "Level up my PokeDoptables!" button, too?

While the Pokédex may be compatible with some phones, support for the VRC won't be out for a little while.

It'll be a mod menu for now.

Probably not.

Three bugs:

1) In the smiley code for alkia:, the smiley appears with alkia: after it, instead of the Palkia smiley.

2) It is still possible to post empty messages.

3) When I post a message consisting solely of "?"(in Black with Unformatted Font), the font color changes for some reason.

#1 is going to be a tricky one to fix.
#2 might be easier by counting the total if spaces don't exist.
#3 doesn't make sense how it would work, but I'll check it out.

The error with question marks that I reported seems to apply to any post consisting of a single character.

#1 sounds like a simple change in regex - if you made it greedy, it might fix things. Then again, I'm not sure how you have it implemented.

#3 sounds like either an escape or ungreedy regex problem.

Edit: Now I'm clueless for #3.

It's ironic in that it drew my attention to a swear word that I otherwise wouldn't have noticed in the act of trying to hide it.

One other minor thing that I'm not sure is a bug: HTML ampersand character codes like é work in VRC but not in the site chat.

It actually applies to any post consisting of very few characters. I'm not sure how few, exactly, but I posted a remark of only three characters and got the same result.

Eh, that's the censor. It's implemented to censor everything as partial-word, including everything marked to be censored whole-word only on the forum.

Is there a seperate censor list for the site and the program? I'd reccommend just taking the other four letter word off the VRCP list and if someone uses it, rest assured a mod will kick them for it.

Rando put some weird link in the chat ( fficial&tbs=isch:1&sa=1&q=sandslash&aq=f&aqi=g1g-m2&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&start=0" target="_blank">http://images.google.com/images?um=1..._rfai=&start=0 ) and it opened up Google in the VRCP.

Might I suggest a Web Browser room in a future update? (Kind of just kidding around)

EDIT: Normally you can't go back or anything(no buttons) but if you use the Alt + Back button combo, it serves as it should, a back button, sure other combos would work similarly.

EDIT EDIT: Writing a message by navigating to the site(victoryroad.net) takes you back to the main room

Should be easy to fix by changing the regex:
Code:
/[\ \,\.\?\!\'\"]match[\ \,\.\?\!\'\"]/
^This one is roughly what is used on the forum, which takes a much more conservative approach. A more powerful option, but one that may have a few extra downsides would be:
Code:
/([^a-zA-Z]+?)match([^a-zA-Z]+?)/
I'm sure I'm just pointing out the obvious, but just in case you get a brain block or something

Might I suggest a PM reader on the Chatbox?
Could be a thing to go in the spot next to the sound options, it could tell you how many PMs you have, and you're updated on when you get one, then when you click the reader, it opens your mailbox in your preffered browser.(or just IE if that's the only way)

A PM reader is very possible. I'll add it to the idea list.

Suggestion: Make it like Windows Live Messenger, so the sound only plays if it's minimized.

I was actually planning on making the text in the title change rapidly (like every half second) if it was minimized. The sound idea works too. All I've got to do to implement both of these features is figure out how to detect if the program is not the active window.

Random idea I'll throw on the table: could this make an effective Pidgin or Empathy protocol instead? I somewhat doubt it actually could, but then again, who knows?

I was thinking of adding an IRC connection capability, but receiving messages could be a pain.

It isn't worth it. I'd stay away from IRC if possible. Other people may like IRC, but I do not. It's much better and easier just to chat the way we have now. It isn't worth the work for such a mediocre program. Other people may have different input though.

For 8.2, I fixed the issue to make links open in the default browser. It was so easy that I fixed it in only ten minutes. I also made it so post deletion is as simple as clicking the icon to the left of the time and then choosing "Yes" (mods only).

Ready for the entire subroutine of the default browser?
Code:
Private Sub WebBrowser1_NewWindow(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs) Handles WebBrowser1.NewWindow
        Process.Start(WebBrowser1.StatusText)
        e.Cancel = True
    End Sub
...That's it.

Yay, now I don't have to wait for IE to open when I already have FireFox up and running.

Now get to work on a Linux version so I can put it on my netbook (and a bunch of other people want it as well).

Eh, why are Serious Business and Staff mixed in with the other rooms if normal users can't access them? Why aren't they at the very end or something? I'm glad that links finally open in the default browser, though.

I can easily move them without changing any of the code. I'll probably do that for 9.1.

I'm not sure why, but when I click on the 'download chat program' link on the main page nothing happens. I'll keep trying to see if it's a fluke.

Hm?

If there's been a silly moderator with a sibling on the site who's left VRC open, their sibling can access the Staff tab... I mentioned it to Cat earlier.

IDEA: How about something that, when you press tab, it cycles through the people online and types in their names. Sometimes I'm lazy to type, so I just came up with that

Well of course, same goes for any other website, etc. if someone has their passwords saved or something. At least with this we can just kick the person if they seem odd(or if they're like "OH I'M NIN'S BROTHER LLOLOLOL")

I think there should be checkboxes for moderators to select multiple messages for deletion. If someone posts 10 messages of spam, it would be much more practical to use checkboxes than deleting them one at a time.

While this is a good idea, I believe that the archive view on the main room is the best way to do this for now, as it loads much faster due to the split.

Visit this page and take a look at the check boxes:

Is that because of the difficulty of reading it or users abusing bolded Bauhaus 93?

I am facing a problem that when I log in to VRC, I can see the Victory Bot message "The Spirit of Time appeared" and all the posts that were typed before I log in, but then, I can't see the other comments posted after I logged in, and can't see any comment I post. Why?

Here is my new suggestion for future versions : A SPELL CHECKER! (dun dun dun) The chat could have a spell checker that can be turned on or off by the user.

Spell checkers are difficult; you need a word dictionary, and that can be difficult and annoying, especially with lots of names.

Pidgin uses Aspell, which is pretty good.
