Hello, I am Pingouin7, as you can read.
I got to this forum from this video.

I was looking for another Pokémon forum to be active in and couldn't find any that looked good to me.
But then when I followed the link in that video, I figured out this would be the place.

So yeah, yo.

Welcome to Victory Road! It looks like you know a bit of Japanese. I know that there are a few others here that do, and I'm currently taking classes. Enjoy your time and take it easy

When you say "A bit of Japanese", I say "really a bit of Japanese"
If I know something about Japanese, it'd be a few words, how to use "no" and how to say "My name is [insert name here]"
I did learn every Katakana and Hiragana, though.

Playing Pokémon games in Japanese seems a little bit easier to me when you know Katakana and Hiragana.
I remember back when HG/SS were only out in Japan, people were getting stuck because the guy near Tohjo Falls would prevent them from entering Kanto.
When I reached that part of the game, I knew just enough Japanese to know Prof. Elm was talking about "Enju City", so I deduced I had to go there.

I never got stuck in that particular part (And yes, I was playing the Japanese version with no knowledge of the language ). I did, though, get stuck in B/W where you had to go back to the desert... that really didn't seem too obvious to me :I

Anyways, Pokémon aside, welcome to Victory Road!

Thanks for the welcome, guys.

And I gotta say sorry for bumping an old topic, I wasn't paying attention when I posted that.

Welcome to Victory Road. :3 I have great respect for the Japanese (all Pokemon fans should).

I hope you feel right at home here. If you have any questions or problems with any part of the site, Cat, Shade, PokeRemixStudio, and even some of the regular users are people you can trust. We'll try to help as much as we can.

Don't take my word for it, you decide.

Again, I hope you enjoy VR.

Welcome to the site. As 7dewott8 said, it's like a neighborhood in here. Chances are you'll love it. Go nuts, dude!

Offtopic:
Ah, yes, I have considerable respect for the Japanese too. They're naturally
very good at what they do. :/

Thanks, but I'd rather not go nuts.
I don't want to get banned for going too far.

The Staff would only ban you if you became counter-productive or outwardly aggressive towards other members, and even then, being a little "hyper" would probably be responded to relatively leniently (granted, I'm not saying you should go hyper.)

Additionally, this site makes use of Infractions, which are basically active penalties placed on your account by Staff members, in order to place limits on the accounts of problematic users. Once beyond a certain active Infraction (Infractions eventually expire) threshold, your account requires moderation and approval for posting, etc., and numerous features are locked, this state being called "Purgatory". Of course, reading the forum rules should help with both understanding, and avoiding this system.

Enjoy your time here

Welcome to the forums, huh? I do think that you'll be able to fit in well... Even though I'm in for only a week, it's been incredibly positive for me. I think it should be the same for you, huh?

Yup, I do think so.
Another question: Are there usually many people on the chat?
Wouldn't it be better if we used an irc chatroom?

There's the VRIM... it's usually active when there are more people online at the same time. If you came in on the wrong time, you might end up with you being the only person. At the right time, though, it's busy. It's all about time zones...

Surefire tip to get Cat to welcome you: put Japanese in your title.

Anyways, welcome to the forums.
