New Pokemon RPG due by end of year
Source:
http://www.pokemon.co.jp/info/game/g100129_02.html This may be because of Nintendo's policy on annoucing games in advanced but it probably is Gen V because Game Freak is publishing it. |

Me too! I was disappointed when Battle Revolution turned out to be nothing like Colloseum, so it would be great to have another after all these years. Then again, Generation V wouldn't be too bad either, but releasing a new Generaiton the same year as HG and SS seems unlikely.

I say if they're going to keep things fresh, they're going to go full out 3-D, at least for the battles (as I've said before). There might be light improvements to the overworld part of the game, but if they really want to appeal to the fan-base, they'll try to push the DS capabilities to the max this time around with full-fledged high-graphic battles.
They're saying they're going to take the series in a "new direction." Does that mean part of the adventure (such as HMs and fighting a big, bad organization) might be changed? I hope so. It certainly would shake up the series for me. Last edited by Justjack91; January 29, 2010 at 02:18:46 PM. |

But, re-thinking about it, isn't it weird that Nintendo is releasing another new Pokémon game so soon?
I mean, think about it: -Pokémon HG/SS (American+European+Korean release) -Pokémon Ranger 3 (Japanese release in March, and American release by the end of the year most probably) -Pokémon ??? (Japanese release by the end of the year, American release in early 2011) -PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Big Adventure (American release in spring 2010, as stated by Wikipedia) Correct me if I'm mistaken. An MMORPG? YUSH PL0X!
There aren't enough good MMOs around. A Pokémon would be awesome! But... very unlikely. As for Gen V, does anyone else this it's a bit too much? Back in Gen III, when Gen IV was announced, I said that 500 would probably be the limit. |

This confirms it even more.

3-D is certainly not out of the question, but its hard to say this early. I would love to see them do what they did with Super Mario 64 DS, though I also thought the sequel would be on new hardware... Which makes me ask another question; is this the first time they've had two generations on the same hardware? Maybe it won't support older DS/DSLite models? Ultimately, the DS seems to be here to stay a while longer. |
