Default Chargers + bent pins = fail

Looks like my Nintendo 3DS stopped charging properly tonight. As it turns out, the charging pins within the system has bent upwards so much, that my charger connector is now failing to make contact, unless I put the system upside down. Guess it's all the wear and tear that's killing it. When the pins do finally give, I guess that's the end of the system after two batteries (I have a spare).

Anyone else had a charging disaster on their hands, especially caused by connector failure? What do you do to minimize the impact? Have you compromised?

In the meantime, looks like it's time for me to hunt for deals on a Nintendo 3DS XL.

It has happened when I have had the contacts to bent inward and ended up not fitting anymore. All I had to do was just buy a new charger because I couldn't deal with that anymore. I've tried to bend it back again, but the metal is just too strong :/
