Only once with on my Diamond with action replay I wanted to get through the game quickly so I used the rare candy cheat and raised my pokemon to 100.
It doesn't matter now because at the time I didn't have Wi-Fi and I also eventually deleted the file. |

I used an Action Replay for a little to get Pokemon (not legendaires) that I couldn't normally. I would never use them in battle though, I just needed them to breed with!

Yes, I did a loooong time ago. In my diamond I used an AR to get arceus, found where shaymin and Darkrai were (using walk through everything), got lots of money and all TMs and more. I was so bad . After my friends game got every single glitch and bad egg possible after a certain code, I got scared so much that I released all of the cheat pokemon, wasted all of my money, got rid of ALL of the TMs and . I haven't used action replay for about 3-4 years, but I still have it but I will never use it again.

I used AR on my Diamond to get event legendaries. I've since thrown it away.
I've also tried to emulate YouTuber Pikalax1 by using an emulator to mess around with Blue's memory addresses in real-time (while the game is running). For anyone interested, here is one of Pikalax's videos that is a great example of what happens if you do it the "right" way. Last edited by isbragg; February 10, 2010 at 08:11:07 PM. |

I have not personally hacked but i know a few others who have.
Usually their reason is they want a Pokemon from an event that's long been over. I think if you missed the event you should at least have some dignity and simply go on without the Pokemon rather than do possible harm to your game. |

I hacked and used cheats on emulators, but not on a real cartridge. My friend kept wanting to use it cause he wanted deoxsys real bad. I told him not to, to never give up. He stopped playing it, but at least he didn't cheat. I hope. He nowadays says Spectrobes is better. Then I flipped him off, ahah. Not really.
As for hacks, I had fun playing on a computer without internet and doing hacks in ruby and leafgreen. I loved playing it on a computer that I played through several games on emus, abusing save states through the way, which includes gold, ruby, leafgreen, and Zelda: Minish Cap. Some others I forgot. 1.) How
Action Replay of course. I don't want to take apart the whole cart. I don't have time for that XD 2.)Why you hacked Well I don't hack to get an advantage in the game. I only hack for fun on my Pearl Version. (I have all 3 so Pearl is my "stunt game") I usually just use Walk Through Walls or a sprite modifier. Pretty much anything. If I hack on Platinum it's only for the Wild Modifier and I chain Giratinas then shut the game off XD |

Never actually hacked a game as i have no idea how to do it but i do own an acekard 2i, which i must say is the best thing i have ever brought! especially for pokemon, makes games more enjoyable and with the amount of money i have spent on video gaming i deserve a free break. With pokemon i would never glitch the pokemon or anything like that but i do add the item cheat on so i have rare candies on, makes EV training easier.

In middle school, I hacked my Gold a few times, just because the entire idea was "new" to me at the time, and had some fun with the game. Then I believe I hacked Pokemon Ruby before I finally grew tired of the idea. I believe I used a Gameshark for Gold, and an Action Replay for Ruby.

I remember in...I believe it was silver? I tried hacking my friend's Smoochum for her because she *really* wanted one of my pokemon (don't remember which it is anymore) and the only thing I wanted was her Smoochum, which she didn't want to trade. Someone at my pool had demonstrated how to copy pokemon to me, so I decided to try it.
Usually when you put the pokemon in a box or in your party, then turn off in the middle of saving and you fail, it ends up in either your box or your party. What you are trying to do is cut it off right in the center while it's being transferred and it exists in both. ...somehow, it disappeared. Just disappeared. It was nowhere to be found. It was like it had died. My friend almost killed me. This was a one time thing, so I had never planned to do it again, but the bad outcome just reinforced the fact I wasn't planning on trying again, and I haven't done it since. |

I have two.
1. ARDS 2. Because my sister bought one. 1. AR Pro/XTreme/Online/Whatever it actually is (cartridge says XTreme, instruction book says Pro, menus say Online) 2. To mess around with my sister's dead-save-battery Pokémon Gold. |

I'm trying to make a hack of Ruby right now with several fake Pokemon that look pretty cool, I'm still praticing on drawing them though, but I am starting with the starters and their evolutions, being a grass fox, a fire werewolf, and a water..... well, I was going to make it an otter, but then Nintendo made Mijumaru, so I am having a tough time deciding what the water starter should be.....

I have meddled in Pokemon Hacking myself, nothing very serious, though I'm attempting to disassemble Yellow and Crystal to make mods easier. I say attempting because I'm still fairly new to the z80, and the lack of a RAM map makes associations awkward. |

Cool, well that's quite a job you got a head of you. Not meaning to dishearten you or anything but you'll be at it for a very long time, even just yellow I can tell you from personal experience. Recently I've been trying to move one of my hacks over to a red dissasembly, but thinking of just moving back to purely hex editor as the ROM is not completly dissasembled so when I add something new I have to fiddle with ROM INCBIN(RGBDS) sizes and where to include from, where as if I just whack it strait into blank space in the binary I just need to calculate some pointers. |

I probably won't finish it any time soon regardless, GB games are surprisingly complex. |
