Default Nintendo Claims Ad Revenue on Youtube Videos

I'm honestly not sure what to make of this.

I don't see anything wrong with it. *puts up flame shield*

So... Ad's are being added to videos...

Wow... That's... Not even going to affect me really...

At least it's not like SEGA where they actually pulled down videos.

So this is the thing that everyone's complaining about that I never read about it in full detail.

So in short, Nintendo's just putting Nintendo-focused ads on their videos and redirecting the monetization towards themselves, while people argue that they shouldn't because video game content is nothing live movies, TV, and music. Well... what's so wrong with that? They're not destroying the core focus of the channel, or even taking down the channel entirely like SEGA did, as Fubab noted.

I dunno whether it's my dislike for LPers or the fact that I only care about 5% of the videos that aren't pure music, but this doesn't affect me much. It just means people like Chugga will just have to Get Up And Go (Find A Real Job.) How is it making LPs "Cease to exist"?

Or Viacom....

I don't see the big deal. Nintendo's content is being featured, the least they can do is gain money off being shown to the world in someone's videos.

By the way, Turt, LPers who are partnered (like Chugga) get paid by their partnership (in his case, TGS) and any ad revenue that isn't claimed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I also think partners get paid by YouTube, too, so long as they have the proper copyrights for their videos.

A lot of LPers are ranting on it, and here's one from an LPer called Lancun. CAUTION THERE MAY EXPLICIT LANGUAGE

It's kinda interesting.
