Default Favorite classic system

Which of these systems do you have the fondest memories of?

I'd love to hear stories, as well.

I always loved my Nintendo 64, I remember staying up all night just to beat Banjo-Tooie...

Ah, the memories...

While the NES and SNES are both awesome, my favorite is the Nintendo 64. It was my first gaming system. I played that thing so much. I have about 26 games for it with about another 10-15 that I am looking to get. The N64 brought out many nice features such as rumble, analog control on a controller (wasn't really a big thing yet back then) and came with 4 controller ports standard. It also brought many classics such as Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Brothers, Banjo Kazooie, etc). To bad they didn't really get much support of the thing due to the fact it ran off of cartridges.

My two favorite games on the N64 were Perfect Dark and Super Smash Bros. The former is easily the best shooter ever made (when the game's design is compared to the time period). The latter needs no explanation.

Also, Gamecube isn't a classic yet?

Not yet. It must be 2 generations for it to be considered "classic". Although, many collectors say a system must be at least 20 years old before being considered a "true classic".

Yep! DS still runs on a type of cartridges, and it's got loads of support.

Not yet. As Yoshi said, it will be when the next system comes out. The GameCube and Game Boy Advance still have a lot of support in the DS and Wii.

Nintendo 64 was one of my first, if not first, game consoles. Then one day VERY long ago, my parents threw it out because one of the cables kept coming out.... then I only had my computer

You parents have some serious demons, kid.

Anyways, I like my SNES best. Explanation; Megaman X, need I say more?

Good thing I have mah good ol PC though. I never was a HUGE console gamer. PC's are more for meh. And it was broken, the cables wouldn't stay in.

Most of my memories with video games probably come from the SNES, Game Boy Color, or PS1. Enjoyed all 3 of those systems.

The NES was my first, and the SNES is (in my opinion) the best, but my best memories hearken back to the Nintendo 64. I had and still have the largest collection of games for that system than any other, including both U.S. Pokémon Stadiums, Hey You! Pikachu, and Puzzle League. Rather notably, I actually got two of the little Game Boy cartridge controller paks (anybody remember those?) so I could trade between my Pokémon games. Probably my best memories stem from Puzzle League, which I actually bought for my grandma. She was not at all good at it, but she enjoyed it, and I would usually play a few matches with her whenever I visited.

Other games in my collection include Bomberman 64, Hero, and the Second Attack (my series favorite), as well as Parties 1-3 and Paper Mario.

The Game Boy Color, I remember mindlessly taking dumb pictures with the Game Boy Camera. :P
