Rave: BioWare engine/Rant: BioWare games
Rave: One of the best engines I've seen. Good graphics, awesome gameplay, fairly moddable, and very little bugs (That I've come across). Only problem is that it's design makes it RPG-specific.
Rant: So far I've played 5 BioWare titles that I know of. KoToR/2, Mass Effect/2, and Dragon Age: Oranges. The problem with all these games? Nearly identicle plot mechanics. In all 5 you start out as some nobody (Though ME you start out as an army commander, so I guess that's a somebody). Then some crazy **** happens where you're able to see crackpot visions. Then you have to build up a large team but you can only utilize 3 or 4 at a time. You have to make sure all of them are happy or else they die at one point or another (Really hard it DA because they're all richardbags), and they even have the same "safehouse" style intermittent thing between locations where you can talk with all of your companions. Even CoD ripoffs have more variety than this. |
