Daniel looked at the Umbreon and began with,
"It's an interesting world. Nobody there has heard of Pokemon before, apart from those we met during our adventures." "Different people, different society," added Simon. "The people there are pretty easy to get along with once you get to know them. Fortunately, we can all talk, so that helps the situation a bit." "I gotta tell you, some of the adventures there, I'll never forget. Some were fascinating, while others were terrifying. You remember those magic mountains, Simon?" "Always," answered Simon. "That river of magic that we floated down many years ago...I'll never forget that." |

"Well, we're not from there, but we've been there, a lot," answered Daniel. "Interesting that you're actually from there."
"We're actually getting pretty rich from our adventures on there," Simon commented. "Our friend, Zeke, had the money to build a secret room in his house. Fancy stuff." "We built similar things in our houses," added Daniel. "Anyway, what's your name? I'm Daniel, and this is Simon." |

"Hi, Piel," replied Daniel. "I'm Daniel, this is Simon, and this is Shade. We came out here to look at the sky. I've never seen anything like this on this world."
"Hey Daniel, here comes an Espeon," Simon announced. "Daniel? Simon, is that you?" asked a voice. "Wait...I know that voice," said Daniel. "Is that you, Stephanie?" "Daniel! I haven't seen you in ages!" answered the Espeon. "Guys, say hi to Stephanie," Daniel spoke. |

"I've been here all my life," answered Stephanie. "So has Daniel. Just so you guys know, I'm not always an Espeon. When the sun comes out, I turn back into a human again. And when the moon comes out, I turn into an Espeon."
"She's my cousin," added Daniel. |

"Hey, Stephanie, you remember that one night where we went to Mt. Vernenn?" asked Daniel. "The night you were turned into an Espeon."
"Yes, I remember," replied Stephanie. "Why?" "What was it like for you...the transformation?" "It's kinda hard to describe," answered Stephanie. |

Stephanie began her story,
"It was a day just after Christmas. I was with Daniel and a couple of my other cousins. This was back when Daniel was still a Buizel. Their names were Rick and Emily. We going to meet up with Simon and Zeke. Zeke's a friend of ours. We met, then we went into the forest to see one of Daniel's friends, who was also a Buizel. When we were almost there, the father showed up and warned us that the Ditto was about. We went to his home and waited. Then the Floatzel told us that there's a shortcut back to our town, so we decided to take it. Then a Meowth appeared, which was in fact, the Ditto. Poor Rick didn't have time to run before he was hit and lost consciousness. I had to carry him on my shoulder. The Meowth then turned into an Espeon and started chasing me, while I was carrying Rick. There was a portal in front of me. I had almost made it, when the Espeon shot multi-colored waves at me. I couldn't dodge them, so I was hit in the back. I began to fall asleep or unconscious. After that, I had a dream. Do you want to hear the dream?" |

Shade's ears flatten after hearing Stephanie's sad story. "I don't remember how I became like this...the first thing I remembered was waking up like this, half conscious on a beach. That's when I met...."
He shakes his head. "A...anyways, sure, I'd love to hear your dream." |

"The dream started in this wintry landscape. There was a lot of ice and a big fountain carved into a ledge had water pouring down it. It was fun to watch. Surprisingly, I didn't feel cold. It's strange because I actually drew a picture of that landscape, so it was kind of exciting to see the real thing in my dream.
I decided to take a drink out of the fountain, so I did. You wouldn't believe how refreshing it was. After I was finished, I jumped to the ledge above the fountain and pulled myself up. You want to know what I did next?" |

"I found a slope that curved into a U-turn. I was curious on where it would take me, so I slid down the slope," Stephanie continued.
"It was fun. When I reached the bottom, I felt dizzy for a few seconds. Then I collapsed and fell asleep. When I woke up, I could see myself in third person. I was an Espeon. I could see myself, yet I could feel everything. Then I saw Daniel. He called out my name. I wondered how he could recognize me and my new self. We had a conversation about art and he was amazed at how he and I were inside my own art. We walked off toward an icy cavern, then the dream ended. That's when I found out that I actually was an Espeon." |

"My cousin Rick's a Persian," Daniel started. "He's two years older than I am, which means he's 19. Stephanie is 23."
"I'm 16," added Simon. "And I'm 17," continued Daniel. "I had my first adventure when I was 6. Those were truly magical times. I always found it kinda odd how Pokemon can be part of a human family tree." |

"I've had dreams like that, too." Said a Marshtomp, who'd been sitting a little to the side, waiting for the right moment to introduce herself. She smiled, looking up at the sky. "To be honest, though, they're pretty weird most of the time."

Daniel looked to his left and saw something very familiar. He began to see blue sparkles. Then a blue oval opened up, reminding Daniel, Simon, and Stephanie about something important.
"Looks like we've got another mission to do," Daniel started. "We have to get going now. You guys can come with us if you want, just be aware of the dangers of what we're about to enter." "Each time that thing opens up, it's a new mystery each time," added Simon. "This portal will take you to a another world." Daniel, Simon and Stephanie began to walk towards the portal. |

Daniel was the first to walk into the portal. The rest soon followed, with the portal closing behind them. They ended up inside what looked to be a medieval storeroom. There were four torches burning on the left and right walls, two on each. Crates and barrels were scattered across the room. Daniel saw this as an opportunity for concealment.
"Hey Shy," Daniel started. "Can you put the two nearest torches out? Try not to use too much water in doing so." "Be prepared for anything," Simon suggested. "We're in a different world with different people. Anything can happen." Last edited by Armed Floatzel; November 8, 2010 at 09:43:29 AM. |

"Shade, that kind of darkness will draw attention to us," Daniel warned. "If someone comes in here, they'll want to see what's in the darkness."
"It's a good idea to keep darkness as natural as possible," Stephanie suggested. "Hey...I hear footsteps," Simon spoke. "Quick, behind these crates," said Daniel, quietly. Indeed, he began to hear footsteps and someone mumbling to himself. Daniel could make out something like, "uh, gotta get home an' 'ave dinner 'n I'm waitin' and I'm starvin' and hadn't eaten anything since breakfast." |

Hearing the guard, Piél carefully took some steps back as he wasn't nearby any crates, but as he saw the guard, he stopped right where he was, hoping the shadows concealed him enough so he wouldn't get spotted. 'If I move now, my movements are definetely going to give me away', he nervously thought.

The guard made a comment about the door, saying,
"Sloppy...this should be shut." Daniel poked his head out from the side of the pile of crates. He saw a man in a suit of chain mail and a steel helmet, wielding a longsword. The guard noticed that two of the torches were out. "Torches...unreliable things," he muttered. The guard then turned around, walked out of the room, and back down the hallway, closing the door behind him. Simon waited a few seconds before saying, "That was close." Daniel walked up to the door and looked through the keyhole. He could see the guard walking into a dark room. There was another dark room further down the hallway. "Guys, I think we'll need to hide in there to get by undetected," Daniel suggested. "How do we know when it's safe to move?" asked Stephanie. "Let's wait until he turns right, then we'll move," answered Daniel. "When we get there, try not to breathe hard, and hug the wall if you can, so he doesn't bump into any of us." |

Shy relaxed. She'd crouched low, to avoid being seen. She'd also seen the guard, through a small gap between two crates. "If we are seen, I might be able to buy us some time." she grinned, "Water and metal don't go together, and mud's even worse."

"Besides, guards can swarm the place like ants," added Daniel, waiting for the guard to proceed with his patrol. "And they can skewer us with their swords. The worst we could do is knock that guard against the wall. The guard on the other hand can chop off our limbs. This is the danger that Simon and I face every time we go on an adventure."
The guard wandered off to the end of the corridor, turned left, and disappeared. "Now's our chance," Daniel began. "Let's go." He opened the door and walked down into the second dark room down the hall and waited for the others. Last edited by Armed Floatzel; November 9, 2010 at 08:33:23 AM. |

Shyera followed Daniel down the hall, being as quiet as she could. She realized that the others were right; water and mud wouldn't do much if they were spotted. Quietly, she cursed herself for not thinking it through better. I'll have to learn to not be so reckless. She realized, Otherwise, I'll probably get everyone killed...

Daniel walked inside the second dark room, which he felt was perfect for concealment. No one had bothered to put any lights in yet, so Daniel was grateful for human error.
"I don't hear any footsteps," Daniel spoke, quietly. "It's safe to talk for a minute. Listen up everyone. The guard we just saw is on patrol, and he's patrolling this hallway. Sooner or later, he's coming down here again. Here's the plan: when that guard walks down the hallway towards the room we were just in, quickly but quietly sneak down to the other end of the hallway and go right. I'll tell you what to do next after we turn the corner." |

After several seconds, Daniel began to hear two sets of footsteps. Then the guard, along with a teenage boy carrying two unlit torches, walked towards the storeroom.
When both opened the door and closed it behind them, Daniel gave the signal. "Time to go," he said. Daniel walked quickly around the corner and down a long hallway. He walked down the hallway until he came to a metal door. Pushing down on the handle, he slowly opened the door and went inside. Inside was dark; just barely lit with a couple of torches. There were lots of shelves, each holding containers of different materials and objects. There was an opening in the wall to the left and another at the back wall. "Uh oh," Daniel spoke. "I hope the guard and that boy didn't see the water when you put out those torches, Shy. If they did, then they'll know something's up." |

'Shade, don't make me hungry...', Piél quietly said, looking at him for short, then examining the whole room. 'Hmmm... some of this stuff might could be useful for if we should come back later, don't you two think, Daniel and Simon?'

"No," answered Daniel. "I'd rather not be sword-kebabed. I'm saying this with eleven years of surviving lots of ways to get my head sliced off."
"Hey, what's that under the bottom shelf?" asked Stephanie. "Looks like a lever," replied Daniel. He pulled the miniature lever, revealing a small opening in the wall. Inside were two scrolls, with one having a metal ring with a handle fastened to the middle. Daniel took both and gave the one without the metal ring to Piel. "Piel, read the instructions, but do NOT cast the spell," Daniel warned. "These are magic scrolls. Here's what you do. You put your paw on the blank area, then mimic the movements in the scroll. Then release." He opened the one he had, which read Force Bolt. "Force Bolt...I've had this before," Daniel noted. "Piel, what does yours say?" OOC: Piel's scroll says "Wall of Wind". |

"Quick, hide under the shelves," Daniel suggested.
The room was dark enough for the shelves to conceal everyone. Daniel heard the footsteps too. He crawled to the back, under the bottom of the first shelf and waited. A guard with a bow walked in soon after. He came in through the passage opposite the door Daniel used and walked through the passage on the left. After a little while, there were no more footsteps. |

Daniel, Simon, and Stephanie waited to see what would happen next. Then they began to hear more footsteps. But unlike the archer's, these footsteps didn't sound as if this person was on patrol. They were quiet and sounded as if the person had slippers on.
Then everyone saw a girl in a fancy green robe walking around as if she was lost and looking for something. She looked to be around Daniel's age, maybe a year older. She had a nervous look on her face. She then began to approach everyone's hiding place. Everyone began to hear the archer's footsteps again. The girl quickly walked over to where Daniel was, completely unaware that anyone else was here, crouched on her knees, and crawled into where Daniel was. Daniel went beet red in the face, while Simon and Stephanie thought "oh no, caught." As the archer walked by, the girl noticed that something was breathing on her neck. She then felt around for whatever was breathing on her. She felt something furry and suddenly began to sweat, but she refused to leave her place. When the archer left, Daniel, still blushing, asked, "uhhh...'scuse me? What are you doing?" The girl turned to see Daniel's face, then she scrambled out of her hiding place, asking, "Who are you? What are you? How did you get in here?" "That will take some time to explain. You got a moment?" answered Daniel. Last edited by Armed Floatzel; November 12, 2010 at 12:15:14 AM. |

Shyera had dived back into the shadows when she'd also heard the footsteps, and had been rather surprised when she saw the girl. Now, she peeked out from the shadows, though she didn't come out completely. She didn't hear any more footsteps, but she wasn't going to take any more chances.

The girl began to calm down, thanks to Shade. After a moment, she spoke.
"What are all of you doing here?" she asked. "Trying to find a way out of here," answered Daniel. "We're trying to avoid all these guards as well," added Simon. "So what's your name?" asked Stephanie. "Talayah," answered the girl. "Interesting name," said Daniel. "It's...complicated," answered Talayah. "But I'll explain it the best I can. I'm here to find the Captain's so-called 'Lucky Coin.' I'm not a thief and I have no interest in what it's worth. But I need to borrow it for a very important mission. This coin will determine the fate of the entire city. No one else knows about this but me and a select few. I've already found the coin and it's in my pocket, but I need to find a way out now.
The coin is an old relic that used to open the entrance to an abandoned cathedral. That's where I need to go." "Would you mind if we came along?" asked Daniel. "Sure, if you want," replied Talayah. "Just be aware of the risks you'll take in this mission." "I understand," said Daniel. "Speaking of risks, where's that archer guy?" "All the guards are on lunch break," Talayah responded. "I found a copy of their schedule." "Now is the perfect time for us to make our escape, then," Simon suggested. "Seems like it," Talayah spoke. |

"Follow me...I know a secret way out of the building," Talayah spoke.
She walked through the passageway to the left of where everyone was standing and entered another storeroom. Then she opened the door on the left and entered the hallway. As she walked through the hallway, she quietly said, "Don't worry about the guards, lunch break only just started. We've got time." "Okay...I just hope there's not an emergency," Daniel responded. When she reached the end of the passage to the north, she peeked around the corner. "Good...the door's shut," she said. "Let's do this quick." She walked about halfway down the hallway, then stopped at the left wall. "What are you doing?" asked Simon. "Watch," answered Talayah. She pressed one of the blocks on the wall, making it recede a bit. Then part of the wall opened downwards. "Come on, everyone," she spoke. When everyone was inside, the wall slid up and closed itself again. OOC: This is the map for the next area. 'They have an interesting way to hide passages, I have to admit.', Piél said after the wall closed again. His eyes soon adjusted to the dark, enabling him to see a little bit into the darkness. He laughed a bit into himself, thinking this was way too easy to be real.

Talayah began to walk through the secret passage, which became increasingly dark until the point where she couldn't see anything at all. Daniel and Simon also had trouble finding their way around. Meanwhile, the atmosphere was almost chilling.
It was pitch black in the room, with no sources of light whatsoever. Daniel heard dripping noises and a strange, echoing, creaking noise. |

Shyera's heart was pounding. The feeling that something was wrong was becoming stronger. Her eyes were useless, because it was so dark, so she closed them, trying to listen. Shade moved forward, looking around, his night vision taking over. He could see anything that moves, using his ears to hear movement.

Daniel hugged the left wall until he could find no more wall. Daniel was sure they were in another room. But Daniel thought it wouldn't be a good idea to make any light or noise. The floor seemed to be made of stone, which was good, since the only one who needed to worry about making too much noise on stone was Talayah, who had slippers on.
Everyone then began to hear hissing noises. Daniel's heart began to thump because he couldn't see anything in this room. Daniel could tell that the hissing noises were coming from the left side of the room, so he creeped by to the right. When he reached the wall, he felt a space between one section of the wall and the next. Talayah suddenly had an idea. She felt around for a light switch. When she found it, she flipped the switch and on came several dim lights along the left and right walls. The source of the hissing turned out to be a massive spider, about half the size of Daniel. The spider suddenly made an angry hiss and crawled towards the nearest person, which happened to be Daniel. Daniel couldn't defend himself from the spider because he had no weapons, but Talayah had an idea. Talayah jumped up in the air. She lifted her legs up and landed on top of the spider, crushing it with her knees. She then lifted an old crate and laid it on top of the spider, preventing it from moving. "We have to face our fears sooner or later," she said. "Yeah...just be careful how you face them," Daniel warned. Daniel followed Talayah out of the room. |
