Yeah, that was the primary problem I thought about when including the Pokémon games. Most folks interested probably have already transferred most of their good Pokémon forward, and it's a pain raising a fresh team in Gen V compared to all the luxuries we have now. Gen IV might be even worse, but at least you wouldn't need to level the Pokémon up after they learned their last important move.

I feel more and more like the Pokémon tournaments probably won't happen . . . |

I think the only way to make the Pokémon tournaments work is by doing something gimmicky that doesn't require having kept a team behind, constant breeding, or training to high levels. I mentioned an idea of Triple Battles with each person having a team of six freshly hatched Togepi (not bred for IVs) and only using Metronome. Of course, that would involve pure luck.

As it appears Yoshi will be running a Mario Kart Wii tournament, I'm curious what ideas people have for a Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament in early- to mid-May.

Sorry guys, we were going to do tournaments but we got busy with real life stuff (being near the end of a school year doesn't help either), and if my Mario Kart discussion is anything to go from, not many were able to participate anyway (I haven't even gotten a single message asking the status of it).
