Default Random Question

I have been looking at people's teams they use for going through the game and it got me wondering. Am I the only person that fights through the game with 1-3 pokemon and has 2-3 HM specialists?

I'm doing my usual Alakazam beats the entire game again this time in HG but since it's so friendly to lead pokemon i've been using Flareon since I started and she's actually the highest level I have now. But my only other fighter is Bayleaf but I have...Sandshrew who I honestly planned to use till I loaded him down with Cut, Headbutt, and Rock Smash, Poliwag which was the first thing I caught that could learn Surf, and I still have Kenya on me for the time being as my 6th.

I just caught a Scyther from the bug tournament and a Gastly from the pokewalker in order to work on my pokemon catching team but yea. I was just curious if i'm alone in that I go through every game with Alakazam and 1-2 other pokemon.

I ploughed through the game with only a Typhlosion as my attacker. I used a couple of other Pokemon as dummies to use revives and such, but everything but my Typhlosion was either an HM slave or was only in my party for the sake of being there.

I had a team of 6 that I swapped my HM Slave into if I had to go to a heavily HM needing area(*cough* Mt. Silver *cough*).
I don't reccommend running through a game with only one Pokémon or two in your team, even if by the time you reach the E4 said Pokémon will be like level 80, because even if that's the case and it loses, you're stuck with only that Pokémon to fall back on, and might not be able to beat a certain area because you get overpowered by one person.

@nin - Glad i'm not the only one heh.

@Jad - I've always done this not really by choice but because I never feel like leveling other pokemon when Alakazam handles everything just nicely. THOUGH! The first time I played uh Fire Red and ran into a team rocket trainer with a dark type I nearly cried cause I didn't know what to do. Luckily, Charizard was able to come in but since then Miracle Eye (that's the psychic move that lets them hit dark type right?) has been a blessing.

I normally use a team of five, with one HM slave, like Bidoof or Zigzagoon.

I used to do a team of 4 (2 of them were pokemon i WANTED to use but probably never would) with 2 HM Slaves...I think Tropius and Bibarel since the two of them could learn all 8 but i'm not familiar with HG/SS yet so I don't know which combination of pokemon and moves is best yet but i'll figure it out later so I can expedite my travel...unless anyone has suggestions.
