I ploughed through the game with only a Typhlosion as my attacker. I used a couple of other Pokemon as dummies to use revives and such, but everything but my Typhlosion was either an HM slave or was only in my party for the sake of being there. |

I had a team of 6 that I swapped my HM Slave into if I had to go to a heavily HM needing area(*cough* Mt. Silver *cough*).
I don't reccommend running through a game with only one Pokémon or two in your team, even if by the time you reach the E4 said Pokémon will be like level 80, because even if that's the case and it loses, you're stuck with only that Pokémon to fall back on, and might not be able to beat a certain area because you get overpowered by one person. |

@nin - Glad i'm not the only one heh.
@Jad - I've always done this not really by choice but because I never feel like leveling other pokemon when Alakazam handles everything just nicely. THOUGH! The first time I played uh Fire Red and ran into a team rocket trainer with a dark type I nearly cried cause I didn't know what to do. Luckily, Charizard was able to come in but since then Miracle Eye (that's the psychic move that lets them hit dark type right?) has been a blessing. |

I used to do a team of 4 (2 of them were pokemon i WANTED to use but probably never would) with 2 HM Slaves...I think Tropius and Bibarel since the two of them could learn all 8 but i'm not familiar with HG/SS yet so I don't know which combination of pokemon and moves is best yet but i'll figure it out later so I can expedite my travel...unless anyone has suggestions.
