Where were YOU on 9/11?
Well, in my timezone, it is oficially 9/11. So, i've got to ask, where were YOU on 9/11? I remember I was real young, so I think I was watching some kid's show. In my house.

At school, I remember being picked up early and being taken to some random church I never had been to before and that's pretty much it(that I remember about that day).

I was fairly young, though I do remember it with quite clarity. I was at school, when everyone went home, and no one knew what had happened. Everyone was shocked, and we were all quite frightened, as there is a major factory near my city, and it could have potentially been attacked, though it wasn't.

I was in the 2nd grade (Jackson Heights, Queens) when the Twin Towers fell. I remember that there was an uncharacteristic break in homework (we got homework every day back then), and as we were driving through Long Island City (a neighborhood across the East River from Manhattan), I noticed a huge plume of smoke. Because I didn't know what it was, I said they must have built a clooud factory. The guys who I was carpooling with agreed (we were in the second grade, okay?) and we went home. The next day, we had an uncharacteristic holiday from school, which puzzled me, but I thought nothing of it. The seriousness of what happened didn't hit me until several years later, when I truly learned what happened.

I was in 5th grade at the time. I just got out of bed to get ready to go to school and I saw my parents watching the news live of the buildings smoking and collapsing. My father said he didn't want me to go to school that day because who the knows what else could have happened (especially since we are in Vegas, which could have been a good location to hit).

I think I was getting ready for school (I was about 5-6 years old), and it popped up on TV. I remember my dad having to leave the second he heard about it, due to being Air Force and having a somewhat high rank. I actually remember watching the second plane fly in on the TV. I can't remember where I was living, but it was probably Illinios. I kinda forgot about it after that, (I was a kid, so yeah <.<), but I did understand what happened.
My dad was also meant to be at the Pentagon on 9/11, but something happened and it was delayed. He got lucky, he could've been killed. O_O |

I didn't see it when the planes where hijacked, and crashed in the Twin Towers and Pentagon (with the fourth plane suppose to hit the White House), but I was going to watch Pokémon and CNN had all the channels turned to it, I have been bitter at the terrorist organizations since, I just want to... (I AIN'T GOING TO SAY A THING), But I am, to this day, Angry at these people, Pokémon helped me calm down at this (bitter time).

Gaea, all of you were so young when it happened...
I was fourteen. At the time, I was at home. I was resting from a surgery from months gone by, having not been to school since May... I was asleep, when my phone rang... I don't rightly know what time it was. It was my mom. She said to turn a TV on, there was something important, and she had to go right then. I asked her what channel to switch to; she only replied "Any". I flicked it on, and the first thing I saw was the towers ablaze, people running. At first, I thought it was a commercial for Collateral, which was marked to release soon... But as I flipped through the channels to find what she had wanted me to see, all I saw was this. Nine years, man... Seems like forever ago. |

Went to my grandparents' place and they was watching TV. I think it was a foreign program because the event had already happened, or being aired by a local US station through our romanian tv stations. Either way the title was "AMERICA UNDER ATTACK" with caps, and the buildings were burning. It was morning my time so I can assume that it was well over with by the time I was watching. Still, I thought it was live and was very surprised to see more planes hit.
Shortly after, my grandma either called or had a call to someone, or was talking about someone in our family, who was then in germany. She then asked if they were close to the attacks. XD I know, my grandma was VERY illiterate and has absolutely no sense of geography. Also, our house got robbed the next morning. o3x Last edited by Searinox; September 12, 2010 at 05:08:48 AM. |
