Movies You Hate But Everyone Else LIKES!!!

You know there are a few to you. You can't understand why everyone else seems to like them when you yourself can't STAND them. So, what movies seems to be on everyone else's favorite list... while they're totally disliked by you?

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - I like Wonka candy (Nerds and Runts are awesome), but I HATE the movies. They're awful. Bunch of bratty kids win some trip to some psychosis candy factory, sign a waver that lawyers would laugh at, and get them stupid selves into stupid messes. And then some anti-social kid named Charlie wins, it ends, and some annoying song starts playing.

I haven't seen the new version of this (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and I certainly don't intend on it. It looks even worse, like the producers did a double-take on the LSD this time. And that one part with that girl becoming a fat blueberry still disturbs me to this day. I know they made it even worse in the new one...

I don't see what other people see in this movie...

The Di Vinci Code - Zzzz. I don't go to the movies very often, and the one time I did with a few friends, it was a sleeper. Some random stuff happens, makes it impossible for the viewer to connect everything without seeing it multiple times, and brings up a lot of... weirdness. Murder, car chase, weird psycho torturing himself, driving around, end up back in the same place anyway, end. You can't help but feel like you've missed half the movie even though you've been patiently sitting through it the entire time.

I would love for Leonardo Di Vinci to come down and give this movie a big WTF. Seriously. And man did this receive a LOT OF HYPE for the little that it actually was. A great "Oh dang, I can't go to sleep -- Oh wait, here's a movie to go to sleep with!" kind of film.

The Shining - Hilarious for all the wrong reasons is a movie that failed at being scary. OMG, kid moving toward the bathroom, scary music playing, is there going to be something in the bathroom behind the shower curtain? OF COURSE THERE IS! And loads of other incredibly predictable and unintentionally hilarious events both after and prior to that. The part where the guy gets hit on the head with a swing moving by itself is just too funny. Plus you hate all the characters so much that you honestly don't care if they all die. That's the best part of most horror films.

A great example of how badly cliches can ruin a movie. Yet... somehow some people find it as a good horror movie...

I like Willy Wonka as a movie to play in the background, I didn't like The Da Vinci Code and thought The Shining was a little cheesy.

As for movies I don't like, I had distaste in Finding Neverland. It really bored me. I don't understand how it won an award. I can't think of any others off-hand, other than Pokémon 3 (plot sucked in my opinion).

If so, then I also felt as though the plot in that movie was stupid. The best part in my opinion was watching Ash battle that girl at the late beginning of the movie. Liked how they promoted the Pichu Bros. and Ash and Pikachu's anniversary though in that little mini-episode thing they had in most of the earlier movies.

In my opinion, the best Pokemon movie was the first movie.

You are correct; the third did have Entei.

I thought the first was a great movie for nostalgia, but the plot was cliché. My favorites were the 10th (Darkrai), 2nd (Lugia), 8th (Lucario), and 12th (Arceus), in that order.

Willy Wonka was based off the similarily trippy books.

Twilight needs to go die in a burning ring of fire. It's about a moody, depressing, emo girl who meets a moody, depressing, emo vampire. Vampires are supposed to be the sons of devils, not freaking hormonal teenagers. Same goes for werewolves. Not to mention, the fangirls are just as emo/moody/depressing/psycho/goth/stupid/hormonal as the characters portrayed in the movies.

It was so much simpler when vampires and werewolves were both monsters that were hurt by silver, werewolves would be tragic anti-heros, vampires would be demonic villians, vampires burn and die in daylight while werewolves become human in daylight. It really doesn't need to be any more convoluted then that. But oh no, vampires have to live among humans and control weird urges... and they sparkle in the sun... Riiiiiiiiiiigggghhhhhtttt...

Even Harry Potter has a simple concept of werewolves and vampires (not to mention magic). Harry Potter and JK Rowling's books also have PLOTS. And the movie's aren't too shabby either.

The thing I don't like about Harry Potter is that the newer the movie, the longer. Just likes the books. The difference is, the books are more interesting to read and more descriptive than the actual movies are. Things are easier to both follow and understand.

Still, because of the Plots in the Harry Potter movies are that they're good. They've always been well thought out. I just think that some parts of the movies aren't needed and it gets tiring to watch.

I like Twilight a little, but I agree that the concept of Vampires and Werewolves are better the way they used to be. I don't care too much about the movies at all, the book is what caught my attention to be perfectly honest. In the end though, must admit that both movies are popular, I JUST DON'T LIKE TWILIGHT MUCH LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES!!!!
