I wanna paint my Pokemon.
And there should also be an epic cave with crystals in it or... Something. Something that looks absolutely astonishing. <3 And of course, a new crystal Pokemon would be in it. Has there been a crystal Pokemon before? Last edited by SK; April 3, 2010 at 11:44:39 AM. |

Customizable trainers? I don't want to be stuck with the same list of four generic characters for each game. You could even purchase clothes from the big Department Store in the city. Sort of like Pokemon Battle Revolution where you could unlock different outfits and buy them later.

Maybe voice activated commands as well, like the Anime. This would utilize the DS mic. Another thing would to have something like an overhead view of battles watching the Pokemon attack each other like in Battle Rev.

Then I definitely say no to this idea. I don't want to see someone having a battle while some song containing foul language is in play. Imagine having the song titled 'I Wanna **** You' playing while some Pokémon are battling? Seriously :/

Some features i want,
-Customizable trainers -Pokemon running behind you -The return of the pokewalker! -The ability to use the touch screen to run (because sometime my left hand needs to scratch my leg or head) -The ability to go to every region of the pokemon world. Yes. 40 badges. (Anyone up to fighting a level 90 Nidoking from Kanto?) -The ability to get every legendary in the game. (Every one from the birds, to the god itself - Arceus) -The ability to find every pokemon that isn't a legendary in the wild. ...Looking at my suggestions, one might think that the game, if all my suggestions were in the game, must be a gigantic game. Two-cartridge game maybe? |

I'd like to be able to change the hair style/ colour or whatever and buy clothes THAT'D BE SO COOL There could be like a fashion competition or something kind of like Pokemon contests but for the trainers instead Compare fashion/ outfit combinations for prizes ;D Hahaha. |

Here we go!
I want to be able to grow older based on your time (ie, 10 hours, kid 35 hours teen 50 hours adult, or something) that would be pretty cool. Something along the lines of this, which aren't exactly features.. I would like stronger gyms. I would like a variety of pokemon to catch in the beginning of the game (Before first gym). But most of all, I want to be able to go to the Crystal Onix event!! I have wanted to do that since I saw the episode. |

-A cat based starter Pokemon. -Random, ranked wi-fi battling. -Ability to turn wi-fi on any time during the game and have online friends ask to battle you. -Reverse GTS searching eg search who is looking for a Pokemon you have. -The ability to surf on your actual Pokemon instead of a blob thing, same with flying. -Slightly increased chances of getting a shiny... |

But enough of that shpiel. I personally would love to see a customizable Trainer like a lot of people have said. It would also be nice to create a short battle-intro animation, like some ofteh important NPC trainers have. I think Wi-Fi battles might be more interesting that way. I'd also like to see a much longer storyline, perhaps a little more mature in material. I know the game is gonna be rated E, but you can still get a away with a lot using a rating like that. I distinctly recall Bottles the mole being murdered by Gruntilda the witch in Bajo-Tooie. Also, and this is probably gonna be controversial, I'd like to see Pokemon have the risk of dying. It just doesn't seem realistic to me that no matter how hard you beat them, they only ever faint. Having them be mortal would make it that much more important to really care for them. |

I really don't like the idea of the entire competetive battling system. Sleep clauses, legendary clauses, EV training, tiers, all those rules that people set up really just detract from the experience that is Pokemon, at least for me. I was just spouting off the parts of the system that I could think of at the time (EV training and tiers), but I'm really put off by the whole concept of competitive battling. The name itself outlines my meaning: competitive battling. A competition. Not something fun to be enjoyed simply for the heck of it. I'm not saying I hate those of you who play the meta game, and I will never insult anyone who does. If that's what it seemed like, then I sincerely apologize. 'Twas not my intent. i'm just saying I hate the meta game itself. I play Pokemon just to have fun battling my way, and I don't like that people made these conventions of what makes a 'good' battler vs. a 'bad' one. In all honesty I probably should have just started my own thread about it, and I probably will. I suppose I didn't think of it at the time (a flaw of mine. Hindsight is still legally blind). As for your note on hacks and cheats, I hate those, too (though if you think about it, that has almost nothing to do with competetive battling and more to do with losers who will go to whatever exent to win, even by breaking the rules established by the game). However, as I said I apologize for any feelings hurt. I will move this whole bit of mine to my own topic where it will actually relevant. Let's get back to the actual topic, shall we? |

You didn't just slightly misinterpret what he said, you completely did. You also completely misinterpreted why clauses, and tiers exist. Clauses are there so people won't come on there and wreck everyone. Lets say I go on there with my breloom and spam spore on the people that havn't EV'd in speed, and therefore I can outspeed quite alot and him them all with a 100% sleep move. Would that be fair? No. By doing so i'd be taking the fun away from everyone else by being cheap. Like if I went in there with a team of undeafetable ubers, that too would be cheap and take away the fun from others. Tiers, clauses, there all there so things don't go outta hand and people can fight equally without getting wrecked by exploiting something pokemon overlooked. Competetive battles fight other competetive battles for fun. We don't go outta are way to fight casual battlers. It is the battlers that exploit such flaws that ruin fun. |

What about, only new gen Pokemon in the game?
At least for the main story, then you can get Pokemon from other gens. Kinda like the time machine in Gold and Silver, you can trade Pokemon from Black and White to D/P/Pt/Hg/Ss, but only if the Pokemon are available for that gen. |

I got an idea by watching a video of a Pokemon being traded to evolve... It would be cool if there was some kind of item in this game that allows Pokemon to evolve that only evolve in trades, it would be useful for the people who don't have Wi-Fi/another DS and so people won't lose the Pokemon's happiness.

About the battles online, they should do what they did with stadium. If you read the rules in stadium, you will notice it says, "No two Pokemon can be asleep or frozen on the same team" (Or something similar to it.) When I read that, it made me think that the game will make sleeping moves fail if another Pokemon is already asleep and moves that can freeze wont freeze if another Pokemon is already frozen. They also mention some Pokemon are banned in certain battle types... usually, its Mew. I say Nintendo should do something like that, prevent people from breaking clauses and using uber tier Pokemon when you are online battling. Uber clause will be taken out if you are having an Ubers battle. |

NO! No pre-evolutions! They are quite frankly very dumb! How often do you think about Happiny, Mantyke, or Bonsly?
I say make more evolutions!! I would loooove more Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Gallade, Dusknoir, Electivire, Togekiss... y'know, help the Pokemon that really need evolutions! Togetic, Tangela, Yanma, and Piloswine were pretty unimpressive before, but just look at them now... This too! It would allow for order and peace to reign dominant. I was referring to him quoting you, thereby referrencing back to the whole discussion we'd had. That didn't seem necessary because it was only pointing back to something off-topic that quite frankly I've already regretted posting. But yes, a more sound system for battling random people would be a lot of fun. I agree that the clauses can make battles seem more fair (I think I've decided that what I don't like about the competetive battles are really the tiers, saying that one Pokemon is better than the other. Stats have nothing to do with it; if you're clever, any Pokemon can be nearly unstoppable. Case in point: the 'Never Use' Regigigas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek28dP7rgHA). I like the system they used in stadium, and it would be great to see them made Clause Rules into a standard for their battling games (Clause Rules is a term I coined (I think) which means settings which make the clauses into unbreakable rules in the game) Last edited by Nightshade Darkrai; May 8, 2010 at 08:19:10 PM. |

Oh my! Finally, someone who agrees with me! Although I never mentioned my opinion on pre-evolutions, I absolutely hated how about a 1/3 of the 4th Gen Pokemon were just a pre-evolution or evolution.
I think it might be even more than 1/3 of the 4th Gen when I think about it. |

Actually, you CAN'T deny a pokemon does something much better then others
For example. Due to snorlaxes stat arrangement, lickilicky is incredibility outclassed as a curse sweeper and an exploder. HOWEVER, He does something snorlax can't do. Cleric. Aromatherapy and wish make lickilicky a good team player. But sadly hes beaten as a cleric by the likes of blissey and her godly walling stats. The tiers state every single pokemons strength but you still can't deny one does something better then the other, when the stats, abilitys and movepool are all there. The tiers are there not there to belittle the UU or NU pokemon, but too keep them to be used against other pokemon they have a fairer chance against. Also regigigas with skill swap is an illegal combo. This is a random wifi match so they can get away with it. Even at that regigigas needed a whole team to support him while other sweepers can sweep on there own. His opponent was also an uber using nub caek that didn't know much about battling while the regigigas player is pro NU user. Last edited by Sunny; May 9, 2010 at 01:55:50 PM. |

There are certain combos not allowed in competetive play, because of how incredibily broken they are. There very rare. The only other one I know thats illegal for being broken is Azumarill with belly drum + aqua jet. It can 1HKO anything that doesn't resist it and always goes first. Even if a pokemon does resist it, it must be bulky.
Also wish and baton pass. I don't get why thats illegal though. o3o Last edited by Sunny; May 9, 2010 at 03:49:27 PM. |

Just to clarify quickly (I'm a stickler for details) Drifloon was the one who used Skill Swap since it was a double battle.
A Spinda evolution sounds like it'd be awesome, but I can't see whatever was posted because of the stupid school computer. Grr...Maybe Shuckle could get some love too? I think a Shuckle evolution would be beastly. I know the thing's already a tank when it comes to defense, but for some reason the idea just sounds cool to me. Why can't Nintendo have all the cool ideas we do? (or use them at least) Last edited by Nightshade Darkrai; May 10, 2010 at 06:06:47 AM. |

Random going back to main topic purpose... ;P
I'm still waiting for the game where they let you customize your main trainer character a little. I'd like to not have to deal with an underground with everyone as the same sprite, it's difficult to find certain people in flag stealing sessions. >x>; That, and it would be highly preferable if I could actually connect with the main character a little better than, "This is your mom, this is your dad, and here's you and what you look like, you who want to be the champion." For a game like this, it seems sad that we can't customize a little for our huge enormous, unique journey. |

^This.
Except I don't use underground. I say we should be able to have the ability to beat the game without becoming champion. Maybe have the ability to start the game with options. Demonstration: "What do you want to be?" -Team Rocket Leader -Pokemon Champion -World Famous Researcher. Stuff like that... except Team rocket wont be in the 5th Gen. I would like to see you start in the main city (like Saffron or Goldenrod) instead of a remote town on the outskirts of your region. Then more options for what to do like Quadcenturo said. Character customization is always great, but probably not going to see much of that (seeing as the characters are already set and all.)
Because there are more options, the gyms should be a little closer in levels, the weakest at about upper thirties and the strongest, upper forties. Then, sorta like the G/S or R/B/G remakes for the previous two generations, make a Pokemon world. In it, the trainer would be able to revisit all of the regions, beginning with a choice between two, depending on the version they get and moving through to the others. For example, one version you could start in Kanto or Johto; in the other, Hoenn or Sinnoh. After doing whatever is decided that they need to do in the first region, they move on to the next, possibly even 'accidently' losing their party Pokemon in the sea or to a team (pick your own team name and place it here) member. Naturally, you can get them back later, if you so choose. Okay, that's enough for now, Don't want to take up too much time. I will probably make a new thread somewhere else instead of ranting on in here. -Pichu |

I would REALLY like to see an EV monitoring/checking system implemented. Everyone knows about em by now, why have people use a calculator still? Also, a PERMANENT notepad that remembers what you write on it would be nice. I'd certainly love to see a better story and ONE Fire/Dragon pokemon. Come ON, did we need more 4x ice weakness Dragons? Ditch the flying and ground combo and just add a classical firebreather!

This is just a random thought I came up with, but I'd like to see there actually be a point to getting your Pokemon to Lv. 100 aside from the stats. In competetive battles your Pokemon are autoleveled anyway, and your EV would reach the max limit before you reach 100. It'd be nice to see you get something for actually reaching that milestone. Maybe some kind of really awesome move, or something like that?

Yes, EV's provide a slight challenge already, but I think that it would be nice to see the extra effort put back into the games. Sure, we can keep the auto level up, but also have tourneys in the non-auto level up places to give the people who worked harder a chance to wipe those who didn't off the floor! Oh well, whatever will do I guess... -Pichu |

Definetly better animations for moves as stated above. RSE were the worst, with beams looking like little swirling balls. More explosive, energetic, and not too long animations would really be great. Already I am seeing that the camera moves on certain attacks, that's good.
