The official Japanese has revealed that there is going to be a Kanto Starter DLC giveaway in Japan. These giveaways feature 3 C-Gear Skins and a new Pokedex Skin. The C-Gear Skins feature the fully evolved Kanto Starters, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, while the Pokedex Skin feature the basic Kanto Starters, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. These downloads will be available to everyone from February 25th, 2011 to April 25th, 2011.

C-Gear Skins: Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise

Pokedex Skin: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle

Those skins are absolutely amazing. Hope they also hold this event for the international versions of the games, it'd be a crime not to let everyone have these.

Kanto skins, they are bringing back good memories.

I want this to come out soon, because I love the Kanto region.

Perfect proof supporting the idea that no one likes the middle evolutions of Pokemon! These are pretty nice looking, I have to say.

Middle evolutions are always the worst, especially with starters. They're the awkward middle child. The only exception is Grovyle, who is more awesome than Treeko and Sceptile combined.

Oh man, I NEED a clearer image of that Charizard. IT'S SO AWESOME.

Idk, I like some middle evolutions. Ivysaur, Wartortle, Quilava, Grovyle (I completely blame Mystery Dungeon for him though), Combusken, Dewott... They're neat.

But here's the question: do you like any of those middle evolutions better than their evolutions or pre-evolutions?

Ah, that's only the case with Grovyle (prefer him over the others in his line) and Dewott (like him and Oshawott)...

This thread reminds me, I wonder if there will ever be a way to get your own custom skins onto your game?

The skins are exceptionally nice. I did not know that Black & White have such features, and that is really nice. I like the Charizard one the most, but all of them are nice.

The Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise skins are really cool-looking! I hope that we will be able to get such skins once the American B/W are released.

These better be international, because I adore that Venusaur one. All are good, but that Venusaur looks particularly nice.

I only like Eelektrik and Grovyle mid-velutions.

The middle evolution ain't too bad but they're unnoticed compared to other Pokemon.

You know, they're coming out with this because February 25th is the 15th anniversery of the release of Red and Green.

Well, we got the Mew, so I doubt we'll miss out on these. Maybe not the contest ones, but I bet we'll get these eventually.

Wow, these are very nice and it takes you back to Red and Blue. What would be cool is if (developer) held fan-art contests, and you could send in your own image, maybe win something. I wish they had more DLC stuff, more often, like a daily special sort of thing. It can really breathe life into the Wi-Fi connectivity.
